Look what I received! My first ever BLOG AWARD! This exciting surprise came to me from a fellow Canadian and Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Terry Montgomery – thank you Terry! This award made my day!
So now I must
1) Thank the person who gave this award to me and link it back to their blog
2) Share 8 things about myself
3) Pass this award to 8 other individuals that I have recently discovered
4) Leave a comment on their blogs so that they can pass along the recognition!
Before I get to the 8 things about myself, I need to top up my coffee. Ok – there’s the first thing about me;
2 – I was born and raised in Comox, British Columbia, which is where I got my love for nature: hiking, kayaking, camping and fishing (specifically for salmon and yes, I gut and clean my own fish!). My husband (who is from England) and I currently live in New Brunswick – but you never know where the wind blows you.
3 – I studied Tourism and Hospitality (I’m a certified Travel Counselor) and Tourism Marketing Management – and I’ve worked for Tourism British Columbia, Delta & Hilton Hotels, Banff Springs Hotel, and my favorite job of all time, Pacific Coastal Airlines. I also worked for a few years with Global TV, setting up commercials for seven TV stations across Canada. I am now self-employed (Stampin’ Up!) & my husband and I hope to have our own business one day (coffee shop).
4 – Traveling is one of my favorite things to do! I love road trips, I love planes and I love cruising. There is so much to see and experience in this Big Ole World of ours and I look forward to future excursions! One place I’ve always wanted to see is Pompeii. It’s always intrigued me. Once upon a time I wanted to be an archeologist – everything about how people lived (especially in Egypt) fascinates me. I’d rather watch a documentary on Nova, National Geographic and the Travel channel than a sitcom any day! Out of the places I’ve traveled to, so far my favorite spots are the sandy beach of the Big Island of Hawaii (I could snorkel there for hours and hours) and Lewes, England. I love the pubs, the history, the scenery and the architecture of the houses, castles and churches. (Lewes is also where my husband is from so how could I not love it?)
5- Along with stamping and all things creative, cooking and entertaining are also my passion! I get great pleasure in cooking and especially in sharing it with others. There’s nothing better than good friends, good food, good conversation – and good vino!
6 – I play guitar & sing and my song, “Shattered Hearts”, is copy-written
7 – Thai. Mexican and Japanese food are my favorites. Not necessarily in that order.
8 – My Great-great Grandfather helped design the Bluenose (my Dad’s side of the family is from Nova Scotia) – another relative was first mate on this vessel too.
So there you go! Eight things about me that you may not have known. Here are the eight fabulous blogs that I am passing the ‘Stylish Blogger Award’ to:
Stampin’ Butterflies
Homespun Smiles
Peg Craft a Lot
Keenan Kreations
In the Kitchen with Monica
