Slimline cards are all the rage and have been popular for a while now. If you haven’t tried making these yet – or, if it’s a new card fold for you – you can see the ones that I’ve made (along with a video tutorial) by clicking HERE.
Today I’m going to show you another type of fold, called a “Slim Tent Card”. It’s quite different from a slimline card, but the concept of making a slim card is the same. These slim tent cards are my new favourite types of cards to make. They also use less card stock, but seriously, they are an absolute blast to make. There are many different variations on how you can make these cards – I just know you’re going to have as much fun creating slim tent cards as I am!

In my video demonstration, I share how to create a slim tent card using the “Arctic Bears” stamp set as well as LOTS of card samples, many featuring NEW PRODUCTS coming out next month from our Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration promotion!
Ok – let’s get onto the video and cards, shall we?
You can make these cards as slim or as wide as you wish.
Start with an 11″ length of card stock and cut either 2″, 2 1/2″ or 3″ wide (in my video I accidentally said 8 1/2″ instead of 11). Then score at the 5 1/2″ mark.
So, for example, for my Arctic Bear card, below, the Basic Black card stock measures 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 5 1/2″. The two strips of Party Pattern Designer Series Paper and Basic White card stock (inside) measure 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″. You can use whichever dies you wish!

I turned this “Slim Tent Card” into a bookmark, by cutting the base shorter and adding magnets behind the circles! The Granny Apple Green card stock measures 8″ x 1 3/4″, scored at 4″.

If you’re a current customer of mine, complimentary 2022 Mini catalogues & 2022 Sale-a-bration brochures will be mailed out to you this week, so be sure to keep an eye open for them! I have done them at times, but only within Canada.

so glad yo have found your page
Lovely!
These types of cards are called Scraplings as the base tent fold and paper add-ons often evolve from scraps. Google search Scraplings. They are so cute and turn scraps into #FASTnFAB fun cards, TSM for sharing your awesome versions.
