Friday’s Post Convention Workshop

August 1, 2010 Leave a Comment

Hi All! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend so far! I started the weekend off with my “Post Convention Workshop” – and it was a not only a whopping success but SO MUCH FUN! Thanks to all the lovely ladies that attended!

Patty & Allison (Mother and Daughter) work on their ‘wish lists’. I suspect ‘Santa’ is going to be VERY good to you this year, Allison…so you better behave! LOL

My youngest guest – and he had a ball too! He ‘ooohhhed and ahhhed’ at all the right places during my demonstration! Thank you Isaac!

I think it’s quite obvious that I’m STILL on a buzz from convention – it will be awhile until I calm down…..tee hee. My head is still spinning with all the ideas I brought home from convention – some of which I shared at the workshop. The two cards I demonstrated were the same cards Stampin’ Up! prepared for our make and takes in Utah. I am in LOVE with the “Just Believe” stamp set that we used in the following card:

This card also featured the watercolor paper and color spritzer.

This is one of the stamp sets that all demonstrators were given for FREE at convention! We had the choice of wood or clear stamps. I chose clear for this set (also for easier packing as my suitcase was getting full!). If you haven’t yet tried our clear stamps, you really must! They are hands down thee BEST – no other stamps can compare with the quality Stampin’ Up! offers. To learn more about our stamps, click here.

The make and take project for my workshop involved the BIG SHOT (which you all know is my second love, next to my husband, of course…*ahem*), and we made little note cards and envelopes.

Stamping fun!

Tammy, Michele, Shelly and Cathy

Michele picking her expression out for her Make and Take project. I use the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set constantly. It’s especially great at workshops so that each person can custom make their card. This is one of my top selling stamp sets. It’s so versatile and there’s 24 stamps in this set! Imagine all the cards you can make – for EVERY type of occasion!!!

The envelopes were made on the Big Shot with the Scallop Envelope Die.

The note cards, which measure 2×3, used the circle image from the “Just Because” set, the expression from the “Teeny Tiny Wishes” and the DSP (Designer Series Paper) is the new “Sweet and Sour” – isn’t it pretty? Love it! The colors in this paper are Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla. I won this paper while on Debbie McNeil’s Customer Appreciation Party & Cruise Tour in Salt Lake City. Debbie is a fellow demonstrator that provides a service – CraftyPerson Productions – to other demonstrators such as class tutorials, promotional and product sample newletters, etc. Debbie’s service is a HUGE asset to my business and not only does she save me a ton of time, but she helps make my business classy & professional. Thank you Debbie! (Her party ROCKED and the bus tour of Salt Lake City that she provided was awesome!)

Look what else I demonstrated on the Big Shot:

This was made by inking up the new and fabulous “Vintage Wallpaper” embossing folder with the Cherry Cobbler ink pad.

Is this STUNNING, or what? Wowsers! This is the new “Elegant Lines” embossing folder and you wouldn’t believe how deep the impression is! Photos never do justice – you have to see and feel these cards in real life to really appreciate them! My dear friend, Deb, popped over for a visit last night and she needed to make a very special wedding card. Cathy, another wonderful friend and fellow demonstrator, was also here and this is what we came up with:

Holey carumba! I used the silver card stock for this card and embellished with the jewels – WOW! What a difference those ‘diamonds’ made!

Next to the “Dazzling Diamonds” these rhinestone jewels – and the pearls – need to be on hand at ALL times! LOL Totally hooked on these! And the value you get with these packages of bling is amazing – there’s 150 ‘diamonds’ and ‘pearls’ in each package for only $6.50 CDN! Diamonds really ARE a girl’s best friend – especially at THAT price! Woo hoo!

We embossed the Baroque Motifs on the front in silver and the envelope flap was put through the Big Shot with the “Elegant Lines” folder. The Bride and Groom receiving this card from Deb are sure to be so impressed and the fact that it’s handmade by Deb will make it that much more special to them. A bought card can’t do that!

Here are some photos of my display table:

Most of the samples shown in this photo were made by me, but some are also card swaps I brought home from Convention.

More samples – the cards on this side of the board are all cards swapped during convention and made by other demonstrators. TONS of inspiration here!

Lastly – here’s a fun card I want to share with you:

We will be making this “Margarita Card” at my Chicks’n’Chocolate class on August 9th – so be sure to RSVP if you’d like to attend! Click here for more details.

HAPPY STAMPING!

PS – the winner of the $80 Shopping Spree at my workshop was Cindy Richards! Way to go Cindy! Cindy also received Hostess Stamp sets of her choice and she decided to use her $80 towards the complete set of markers! I know you’ve been wanting those markers for ages, Cindy – you’re going to LOVE them!!!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
