Pet Sympathy Card Tutorial - Tina Zinck, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Hi Friends! I hope you’ve been enjoying summer so far! I’ve been pretty swamped, finishing up painting and getting our house renos completed, as well as preparations for our wedding (we’re down to 37 days!). With everything we’ve got going on, I’ve not had much time to make cards. I have been having serious stamping withdrawals, lemme tell you! There are so many incredible new products to play with from our Annual Catalogue, our Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure and my new stampin’ goodies have been sitting on my desk, lonely and sad, waiting to be used.

This morning I managed to squeeze in some time to create not one but THREE cards, each for my contribution for the Leaders Project Sheet Group that I belong to. Oh my goodness, what a GREAT way to start my day…a cup of freshly ground coffee and stamping (does it get any better?).

Today I am sharing this month’s tutorial, and the cards I made for August and September’s project sheets will be posted during those months. I’m trying to work ahead, my friends! I’ll also be sharing tutorials created by my fellow demos over the summer to keep you inspired and to give you lots of stamping ideas for your cards and projects!

Personally, I just LOVE this stamp set and knew I HAD to have it….could it be due to the fact that I’m a mom to three cats and two dogs… d’ya think? LOL

We have a dear friend whose beloved cat is old and unwell & we know this kitty’s days are limited here on this earth. I wanted to make sure that I had a condolence card made and ready to give to our friend, when needed.

For our friend’s card, I used the “Sit Stay Relax” set, combined with the “Very Best Occasions” stamps (which are AWESOME, especially with the coordinating punch) and the “Today is the Day” Memories & More Card Pack.

The “Rings of Love” Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper has been a constant go-to with my card-making this month, so that’s what I used on the card too. I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

Sit Stay Relax (Pet Sympathy Card)

Measurements:

Poppy Parade– 11” x 4 ¼”, score at 5 ½ “
Rings of Love DSP – 4” x 5 ¼ “, 1” x 4”
Basic White – 4” x 5 ¼”

Instructions:

Fold Poppy Parade card stock in half to create card base.
Glue Rings of Love Designer Series Paper to front of card.
Place a flower sticker from “Today is the Day” Memories & More Card Pack on top left and bottom right of card. Add small Rustic Metallic Dot to centre of each flower.
Stamp cat/chair image from “Sit Stay Relax” set with Black Memento ink onto “Today is the Day” card. Color diamonds on chair with Light Pool Party Stampin Blend Marker. Use Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend Marker for chair outline.
Colour cat using Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend Markers. Use Colour Lifter as desired.
Cut the stamped card with Paper Snips and place onto card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp sentiment from “Very Best Occasions” set with Poppy Parade ink pad onto label sticker from “Today is the Day” Memories & More pack.
Add Iridescent Rhinestones to front of card.
Swipe Pool Party Stampin’ Blend Marker across both sides of White Crinkled Seam Binding. Tie dyed ribbon into a bow and adhere to card with Mini Glue Dot.
Place 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White card stock on Stamparatus.
Stamp heart with Poppy Parade ink pad (I also used the ‘inside heart’ scrap rubber).
Stamp sentiment with Black Memento ink pad.
Glue stamped layer inside card.
Cut a strip of Rings of Love DSP to measure 1” x 4” and glue along the bottom edge inside card.
