New Stamp Set SNEAK PEAK!

March 2, 2012 Leave a Comment

Today I finally got around to playing with the ‘Bright Blossoms’ stamp set we received as a gift at the Managers Reception in San Antonio.
This set (and the coordinating Designer Series Paper, fabric, etc) will be available to purchase during the month of April and then you won’t be able to get until the new catty comes out.  Stampin’ Up! demonstrators can pre-order the whole product suite during the month of March!  I’ll be having a special event in April featuring all these new Stampin’ Up! items and I can promise you won’t want to miss it – details will be coming soon.

I created the background on Whisper White card stock and the  Bright Blossoms stamp set.  I used the classic ink pads and markers in Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Not Quite Navy and Bashful Blue.  Then I used the new  Label Collection Framelits to cut out my art piece.  I covered it with Versamark ink and embossed the whole piece with Iridescent Ice. The ‘Live in the Sunshine’ sentiment (which I love) comes from the
‘Pursuit of Happiness’ stamp set. The roses are really easy to make.  Simply punch out a circle, cut it to make a spiral then twirl on anything from a chop stick to your paper piercing tool! Secure the bottom with a glue dot.  These flowers are so much fun to make and are a perfect way to use up scrap paper!  I added pearls to the centres of the flowers. The leaves were made with my Big Shot and the Little Leaves sizzlits die. I also added a couple of rhinestones to the sentiment for some BLING.  Gotta have bling, Ladies. Makes ya hap-hap-happy!

I LOVE this stamp set. It’s really fun to play with.

FYI – I am a big fan of Mary Engelbreit and this is soooo her style!  Her artwork is so cheery and fun!

On this card I used the background piece left over from the first card that was cut with the label framelit die.  Then I stamped and cut a second set of leaves, the tulip and vase and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to raise the image. I also used my circle punches and card stock to add dimension to the stamped background. A little dazzling diamonds and the white gel pen added the finishing touches! The sentiment on this card comes from the ‘Friendly Phrases‘ stamp set and I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to reposition the words (tricky with the clear stamps, lemme tell ya!).

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
