My Convention Swaps

July 17, 2012 2 Comments

Hi Friends!  I am sitting in the Phoenix airport with my BFF Shallon, who is also a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and as most of you know, we’re on our way to the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah!  We hit the hay at midnight, got up a 2:30am and were checked in at the Halifax airport by 3:30am.

Nothin’ like a ‘point and click’ photo at 3:30am! But can you can tell we’re EXCITED!

It’s now 4:30pm and we’re waiting to complete the last leg of our trip.We had to run to catch our connecting flight in Toronto – whew – that was STRESSFUL! Somehow we managed to get on the plane 5 minutes before it left!

But we’re having a good time, just a wee bit tired and VERY anxious to get to Utah.  Tomorrow morning we’ll be picking up our bags and FREE STAMPS before we head off to do our make and take session – one of my highlights of convention.  It’s such a treat to have projects prepared for US for a change – and Stampin’ Up! always has awesome stamping in store for us.

I had promised earlier that I’d post my card swaps. I made 120 (fronts only) and then I found some other cards that I had already made so decided to bring them with me too! This way I can come back from convention with almost 200 card samples from demonstrators from all over Canada and the United States to share with you at my upcoming events.  Talk about a lot of INSPIRATION!  So here are the cards I came up with for this year’s Convention:

I used the new Window Framelit Collection from the new Holiday Catalogue, which will be available August 1st (demonstrators get to preorder a month before everyone else! Another perk of being a demo!)

Once I cut my whisper white with the Window framelit, I folded it up to make a pocket and put it through the new Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder (also available Aug 1 in the Holiday catty)

Here is the label I put on the back of my cards – I used My Digital Studio to create them .

Each card is a bit different because I used assorted Designer Series Paper and cardstock.  I love how each one turned out!

These were the cards I already had made and decided to bring along to swap with.  I used Betsy’s Blossoms with the Papillon Potpourri stamp sets with the new butterfly stamps.

So that’s it for me.  Gotta fly.  Literally!  Will post photos on my facebook (look for Serene Stamper) while I’m in Utah and if I have a chance to blog I will.

HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
