My Tenth Annual Hostess Appreciation Dinner Best Ever

June 26, 2012 Leave a Comment

Oh my.  Was this year’s “Hostess Appreciation Dinner” a riot or what? Those of you who attended I think will agree with me when I say this was the BEST Hostess Appreciation Dinner EVER!  For those of you who don’t know, each year I hold a very special, very exclusive event to THANK my club members and workshop/private card class hostesses for their business during the past year.  While I appreciate ALL my customers, only club members and hostesses can attend this dinner (hint: so book a workshop so you can come to my next one!).  This is my 10th year holding this dinner and it’s my chance to spoil and treat these lovely ladies.  This year’s dinner theme was ‘Carnival’, loosely based on the new “World Spectacular” Designer Series Paper.

I created the invitations with My Digital Studio, which was so much fun.

Did you know that you can download this awesome software for a FREE 30 day trial?  Just click HERE.

The envelopes were stamped with the new “You’re Amazing” stamp set, which Charlene B. won at the dinner!

This was one of the make and take projects, using the “You’re Amazing” stamps and the “World Spectacular” Designer Series Paper.  We also used the new “Apothecary Accents” framelits that coordinate with this stamp set.

The above two cards were some that I had made with the same stamp set, but we didn’t have time to do these ones.   See the cute ‘ticket’ background?  That’s our new ‘Take a Ticket’ wheel!  And the ‘Winner’ stamp was punched out with the new “Ticket Duo Builder” punch! Stampin’ Up! just makes it too easy (and too FUN!)
Another make and take project was a bookmark using the gorgeous new 2012-2014 In Colour Ink Pads and the new “Morning Post Alphabet” stamp set!  I can’t wait to do some scrapbooking with these fun alphabets!  And did you notice that new ribbon? Love it!
The party favours were bags of the most delicious caramel popcorn I’ve ever had and it was made by my dear friend (and fellow stamper) Kathy McLaughlin.  Thank you so much Kathy! If you want to buy more of this addictive goodness, Kathy has a great little gift shop in Kars, NB called “Moonshine Hollow Creations” – tell her I sent you!  You’ll find all kinds of great items in her store!!!!
(You’ve GOT to see her hotdog sticks…nuff said).
 Even the napkins got stamped!
Behind the caramel popcorn I also attached cello bags containing fun necklaces that I made for everyone.
 I loved making these!
I used clear tags and necklaces that I purchased from a local craft store and used crystal effects to adhere our new Designer Series Paper to the tags.  Add a little rhinestone for some bling and VOILA!
To purchase any of these items you can shop at my online store, 24/7, and have your order delivered right to your door!
 Just click HERE!
And don’t forget to take advantage of my
“Serene Stamper Reward” program
and get FREE stamps!
I’ve been asked for some of my recipes from the dinner, which I have no problem sharing with you!
You’ll find them on my recipe page.  As you can probably tell, I love to cook as much as I love to stamp!
And now, a video, to show you how much FUN we all had!

That’s it for me!  I hope YOU’LL be able to join in the festivities at next year’s Annual Hostess Appreciation Dinner! Just contact me to book your own workshop or private card class with your friends and/or join one of my monthly stamp clubs! New ones are forming in July! Contact me if you’d like more information.
HAPPY STAMPING!
PS: I have to thank some wonderful people for helping me with this years dinner! Cathy, Deb and Heather surprised my husband and I and showed up at the hall the night before the dinner to help us lug everything up two flights of stairs and set up.  You ladies are AWESOME! Thank you so much!
And thank you, Cathy, for helping me slice, dice and chop all the veggies for the salad bar!  Kim, Leigh and Sam were also a big help and I know I’m forgetting some wonderful ladies who jumped in to lend a helping hand too.  Thanks also to Kathy M, for going with me to Maine, so that I could get my prizes, groceries, etc.  What a fun day we had! And that popcorn is seriously addictive! Thanks again!
You ALL touch my heart and I love you to bits.
And finally, a great big, HUGE thank you to my dear, sweet husband, who helped me tremendously and I couldn’t have pulled off this dinner for 40 people without him.  He’s amazing and I think those of you who attended the dinner can clearly see why I adore and love him so much.  He’s also responsible for a LOT of laughs (it’s his English sense of humour!) – and some of those games were HIS idea (anything with a fan belt and frozen peas (aka cranberries).  Do you think he should have been a lawyer with those questions? Yes? Or No?
Yup, he’s a keeper for sure, and I’m a lucky girl!  xxoo

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
