What’s a party without food, right? I made a hot cheesy lobster dip, layered nacho dip, Pesto Chicken Bundles, sugar cookies, cake, hot chocolate and punch. Some of the guests also brought treats like deviled eggs, veggies and dip and desserts. I’ll post some of the recipes for you – just click on the tab at the top of the page.
Games may be corny but they’re fun, a great icebreaker and usually lots of laughs. I found a ‘Left, Right’ baby game online (similar to our stamping versions) and passed a gift around (there were about 12 of us). The winner was told not to open the gift until after game two. Game two was a lot of laughs too: everyone had to cut a length of yarn to match the waist measurement of the Mom to be. Some people were wayyyy off, which got them some colourful remarks from the guest of honour LOL. The one closest got the prize. Both prize winners had the choice whether of not to keep their gifts or exchange them for the other’s gift. Both decided to keep them – one was a gag gift with a bubbles set (but I also included a lovely notepad set too) and the other gift was a LED flashlight. I decided to go with a practical and useful gift and I was happy to see that the recipient was quite pleased with the prize!!
Cute baby shower party favours are a must too. I made popcorn that I drizzled with white chocolate (which I tinted pink) and added a tag to the bags that read “She’s ready to POP” – everyone loved them!
So we had lots of fun and the mom and dad to be are all set for their baby’s arrival and have everything they need. I mailed out the baby invitations too, and I had such a fun time making them I did up a video for you:
