Hi Friends! Today I’m sharing a project with you that was my make and take project for my team meeting this month, with my “Serene Stampers” group. I demonstrated a very simple way to create a journal, just using what most of us probably already have on hand at home. For the project I provided scrap papers, designer series paper and cardboard as well as some rings that I purchased from a local stationary store. I also had a variety of envelopes, of all different sizes, that we used too, which will make terrific pockets to store all kinds of fun momentos and items that inspire us. I then suggested that each member from my group work on their books and then I would give them a weekly challenge for 20 weeks. I can’t wait to do this myself, so I wanted to share with my “Serene Stampers” to do it with me – the more the merrier, right?
For my own Creativity Journal I decided I wanted to try some mixed media. This is something I just love, yet have never tried. Until now. I. Am. Hooked. Loooooove it! It is incredibly satisfying to just grab your stamps, ink, glue, paints, and whatever else is hand to PLAY with. And ‘play’ is indeed the key word. Personally, I am usually so busy I don’t take time to play and stamp ‘just for fun‘. So one of my commitments for 2014 is to just stop and play. I have found that this has really helped me when I’m stumped and can’t seem to get my creative groove in motion. It also reminds me why I love stamping so much. I can’t draw. At all. But give me a fabulous set of stamps and I’m ready to rock and roll! Here’s what I came up with:

I thought I’d share the video and ‘rules’ that I made for my “Serene Stampers”
group, so that you can make a “Creativity Journal” of your own:

The
challenges are just going to be for my team (one of the perks of being a
member of my “Serene Stampers” community!) so if you’d like to join in
on the fun and become a member just click HERE! I will share our first challenge with you though, so that you have an idea of what they are:
- Find ten quotes about creativity that inspires you and reminds you of the importance of being creative.
Incorporate these quotes into your journal. Use your stamps, photos,
your own handwriting, MDS – anything goes! You can use one quote per
page or you can put them all together – it’s up to you
Thanks for taking the time to come by and visit me today. I really appreciate it and I hope you leave feeling inspired. Enjoy the day and HAPPY STAMPING!
