Hi Friends! Right now I am typing this post in the airport, as my hubby and I wait for our plane to Montreal and then Hilton Head Island, South Carolina!!! This is an all-expenses paid Getaway Trip that I earned from Stampin’ Up! for achieving my business goals in 2012! Sooooo excited. This is going to be a weekend of serious R&R and FUN! One of the best ways to see Hilton Head Island is by bike, and Stampin’ Up! has even rented the bikes for us – they think of everything! This is where we’ll be staying:

I’ll be sure to share our adventure and photos upon our return. In the meantime I have a couple of cards to share with you. I am participating in two card swaps during our getaway trip and these are the cards I created:

This card features an exclusive hostess-only stamp set (so book a party to get yours!) I decided to do the ‘spotlighting technique’ for this card as it’s relatively quick to do and saves you from having to color a highly detailed image such as this one. I used my watercolor pencil crayons and blender pen and punched out the image with the 1″ square punch. The Postage Stamp punch fits the 1″ square perfectly. This technique is so much fun to do, as the possibilities are endless (imagine doing it with our new framelits!).

Here’s the other card I made. This was a bit of an experiment and is really pretty and shimmery. I embossed the poisetta in gold and then coloured in the petals with my aqua painter, shimmer paint and classic ink refills. The ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment is embossed in silver and I drew the outline with our new silver pen. Listen. I’ve got to tell you about these pens, which also comes in gold. They are so smooth, so vibrant, so awesome.
