Hi Friends! Today I’m going to share with you the card that I made for my dad for Father’s Day! To make this card I first cut out the ‘Dad’ letters from fun foam, using the Large Letters Framelits dies. Then I cut the letters from our new Colour Theory Designer Series Paper and glued them onto the foam letters. I wanted the letters to be raised, so this worked perfectly.
Sometimes you never know how a card will come together until you start making it, and as an after thought I decided to add a piece of Window Sheet that already had the birds stamped onto it (from the High Tide stamp set). I wasn’t sure how to adhere it to the card, but I really liked how the birds looked over the front. Fine-tip liquid glue to the rescue! I used the glue on the “Dad” letters, spread it out, put the window sheet on top, and placed an ink pad over to hold it in place while it dried. Worked like a charm! A little bakers twine and some sentiments and my card was done!

This card was lots of fun to make and I’ll give it to my Dad on Sunday. I’m actually home on Vancouver Island now, visiting my family, and will be here for Father’s Day, which is a real treat! It’s not often I get to spend special occasions with my family, living clear across the country, so it’s extra special to be with Dad on his day this year.
