January Stamp Club Technique

January 17, 2011 Leave a Comment

Hi Everyone!

This month’s Stamp Club technique was “Split Negative” – which is a simple technique but is oh-so-cool! Here’s how you do it:

1. Cut 2 panels of paper, the same size as stamp (measure the wood block)

2. Ink stamp and stamp it in the center of the paper.
Here I am using Whisper White embossing powder, for this card sample.

3. Stamp both panels with contrasting colors, emboss if desired.

4. Cut images in half.

5. Mat the panel and attach it to the card.

6. VOILA!

If you feel like having even MORE fun, grab your Mat Pack and Paper Piercing Tool to kick things up a notch!

TA-DA! I was really pleased with how this card turned out!
The gals in my Stamp Club loved it too!

Here’s the inside of my card. I forgot to mention, the stamp set I used for this card is ‘Friends 24/7‘ – 0ne of my favorite sets!

I demonstrated a different card for one of my other Stamp Clubs. This card used the ‘Just Believe‘ stamp set, as well as the ‘Live, Love, Laugh‘ stamp set.

Here’s a page I demonstrated at another one of my Stamp Clubs, earlier this month. FYI – photo of my hubby and I was taken Christmas Day – it’s great that I can scrapbook my own personal pages, while teaching at the same time! *wink*

Our friend, Tim, just had a surprise 50th birthday. I made this card for him.

This card is for my Dad, whose birthday is also this month. Hope he doesn’t see it yet! LOL
Another fun project I demonstrated at my clubs, was a cute Hershey Nugget holder for Valentines! I’ve been asked to post the measurements on my blog:
  1. For the bottom strip, I used Chocolate Chip card stock, cut at 1″ x 3 1/2″ then used the Corner Rounder punch on all four corners. Place two Hershey Nuggets (on top of each other) in center of cardstock. Use your bone folder to score both ends, to create mailbox ‘flaps’. Glue one end up.
  2. Take another strip of Chocolate Chip, cut at 1″ x 4 1/4″ and adhere a piece of DSP (Designer Series Paper) cut at 1″ x 4″ on top. This will be used to wrap around your two Hershey Nuggets. Sticky Strip works best.
  3. Mailbox flag was made with scraps and hearts using the ‘Heart to Heart’ punch.
  4. Give to your Sweetheart!

That’s it for me! HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
