Hello World!

March 17, 2009 Leave a Comment

Well, I finally ‘bit the bullet’ and decided it was time that I jump on the ‘blogging’ band wagon! This blog will be home to my rubber stamp creations, events, tutorials, ideas, photos and anything else I think you might enjoy! As I am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, the majority of the content will be Stampin’ Up! related though it won’t be restricted to just that.

There will also be general news and bits n’ pieces, recipes that are so yummy I’ve just got to share, projects and ideas sent on by friends and customers…you get the idea. This blog will also be a great resource for all current Stampin’ Up! promotions, updates and news. Be sure to come by often – I’ll be posting frequently. In the meantime, I’ll be learning the ‘blogging’ ropes and hope to have this site up to par ASAP. Please leave your comments and any suggestions will be most welcome! Oh! I almost forgot to mention…there WILL be ‘blog candy’ give aways from time to time too!

Cheerioodle!

This rose stamp, from PSX, is one of the 1st stamps I’ve ever owned (I’ve had it for YEARS and YEARS and YEARS!) and I still just love it! It’s just so much fun to color and shade…stunning.

Though I didn’t have a guitar stamp, I was bound and determined to make a ‘rock star’ card for Russell’s son, Roy (his birthday was last week). We got him a BC RICH guitar last year, so of course, I wanted to make a card with the EXACT same guitar. Now I just have to make one that looks like my guitar! (It’s NOT a BC Rich though…!).

Roy loves to read, so I made him a corner bookmark too! These are so easy and so fun to make! I’ll add a tutorial soon…

This card was made using the INK, SPRAY & SMOOSH technique that I recently taught at one of my stamping events. Verrrryyyy fun! I LOVE old trucks!

My brother, Erick, shares the same birthday as Roy – here’s the card I made for Erick, using the “HIT THE ROAD” stamp set from SU. Super cute set.

Here’s the birthday card I made for my Mom, using my one and only BIG SHOT (oh.my.Lord…how I love that machine!). The background on the card is just stamped with Versamark for the watermark background. Once I had all the flowers cut (I use up my scraps on the big shot and keep flowers and leaves on hand) – I simply folded them over a pencil to curve the petals. Then I applied a smidgen of CRYSTAL EFFECTS in the centre for the little beads. I liked this card so much that I made another one just like for my mother-in-law, for Mother’s Day (which is March 22nd, in the UK).

VALENTINE’S CARD MAKING PARTY
I invited a few friends over for an old-fashioned Valentine card making party – complete with Valentine muchies that everyone contributed…we had cream cheese & cherry sandwiches, salmon sammies, Nanaimo bars, muffins, fruit salsa (recipe here) with cinnamon tortilla chips and other goodies!

So many FUN things to play with….

ahhhh…Mr. Big Shot…

During the month of March I am teaching classes on Mondays at the Family Resource Centre.
We’re all having a ball and the projects have been super cute! The above photo is actually an altered file folder turned into an accordion photo album!

Here’s the album open. The photos are pull out tags, with lots of room for journalling. The definations on the front of each pocket was stamped with “DEFINE YOUR LIFE” stamp set from SU. Another set I use alllllll the time.

Last month at our stamp clubs I went back to the basics, teaching card layering and cutting. I supplied all the card stock and had each club member bring their own stamp set. Look how beautiful everyone’s cards turned out! WOWSERS!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
