Hi friends!
Today, I’m excited to share two awesome techniques that will add a whole new level of creativity to your cardmaking. Whether you’re an experienced stamper or just starting out, these ideas are simple, fun, and yield stunning results.

Featured Stamp Sets: Ocean Friends & Beauty of the Deep
To demonstrate these techniques, I used two beautiful stamp sets:
- Ocean Friends: Perfect for creating playful, underwater-themed cards with charming sea creatures.
- Beauty of the Deep: A stunning set that captures the elegance and mystery of the ocean with coral, seaweed, and more.
These sets work wonderfully with the kissing technique and are ideal for creating layered, textured cards.

1. Heat Embossed Kissing Technique
You may already be familiar with the classic kissing technique, where two stamps “kiss” to create a beautiful pattern. But have you tried adding heat embossing into the mix?
Here’s how it works:
- Choose two stamps: one with a solid image and one with a detailed pattern.
- Ink up your patterned stamp with Versamark ink.
- “Kiss” the patterned stamp onto the solid stamp, transferring the design.
- Stamp the solid image onto your cardstock.
- Sprinkle with embossing powder and heat-set for a gorgeous, textured effect!
The combination of the kissing technique with heat embossing adds depth, shimmer, and elegance to your projects.

2. DIY Stamps Using Dies
Have you ever wished your dies could double as stamps? Well, they can! This technique is perfect for creating unique backgrounds and embellishments.
Here’s how to do it:
- Cut your die shape from fun foam (available at most craft stores).
- Adhere the foam die-cut to an acrylic block.
- Ink it up and stamp away!
This is a fantastic way to extend the versatility of your dies and create truly custom designs.
