Hi Friends! Oh my, do I have a FUN TECHNIQUE for YOU today! I’m calling it the “Guilded Grout Technique”. I tried to come up with a ‘prettier’ name, because I don’t think ‘grout’ conjures up an image of beauty, yet it truly does when you’re using gold leaf!
Stampin’ Up! released a new product in our mini catalogue this past January called “Gilded Leafing” and I absolutely avoided it, even though I knew the results would be beautiful because I thought it would be too messy to play with. I finally decided to buy a container of it a couple of weeks ago and let me just tell you, I clearly did NOT realize what FUN I was MISSING!
The Gilded Leafing is so easy to use and the results are absolutely STUNNING! As for the ‘mess’ – it’s honestly not as bad as I thought it would be. When you watch my video demonstration you’ll see how quick and easy the Gilding Leafing is to use and just as simple to clean up. The ‘trick’ is to not sneeze, have a fan running, a window open or to turn on the heat tool near this product. THAT, my dear friends, is where a “MESS” will occur! LOL I am SO HOOKED on the Gilded Leafing now that I can’t stop thinking of different ways that I can use it and all the amazing projects I can create with it!
The “Front Flap Fun Fold” is the design I used on all three cards today – I’ve always loved this fold! I’ve added two links at the end of this post that shows other variations and videos for this card fold.
