Flying Home Card Swap

January 11, 2018 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends! Yesterday I shared one of two card designs I created for a recent card swap I participated in. Here is the second card, featuring the sweet “Flying Home” stamp set:

I received this stamp set as a gift at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event in Salt Lake City in November and I can tell you I’ve made quite a few cards with it since then! For these cards I stamped the Hardwood background stamp with Crumb Cake ink onto a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White and then glued this to the Whisper White card base. Next, I ran some Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot using the largest Stitched Shape Circle die. I stamped the image from “Flying Home” with Black Archival ink and coloured it with our awesome Stampin’ Blends (have you tried these yet? I love them!). I glued the stamped circle to the front of the card and added a bow made from the Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon (free with qualifying orders during Sale-a-bration). The ribbon in this combo pack is sooo pretty. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t instantly sold on it when I first saw it in the Sale-a-bration brochure (pg 9)but when I got this ribbon in my hands I changed my mind in a hurry! I’ve already gone through my second bundle of ribbon (that’s a LOT of ribbon and a lot of cards!).

Wondering which stamp set the sentiment is from?
Check out page 25 of the Occasions catalogue and you’ll see it in the “Charming Cafe” set!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
