Stampin’ Up! News & Floating Image Technique Card with Daisy Punch

April 11, 2019 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends! I am so happy that so many of you enjoyed yesterday’s “Floating Image” technique and video. And thank you SO MUCH for all the sweet comments for my 17th anniversary with Stampin’ Up! Your emails, youtube comments and FB messages of kind words touched my heart, friends. I truly don’t know where those 17 years have gone but I will tell you that I am so grateful I made the decision to buy that starter kit and become a demonstrator. I had no idea where this journey would take me and how it would bring so many blessings and friendships into my life. Joining the Stampin’ Up! family has easily been one of the very best choices I’ve ever made.

THE BIG SHOT & PAPER TRIMMER
Important updates & news!

Some of you may have heard the news about upcoming changes with Stampin’ Up! product line and some of you maybe haven’t. I want to make sure my subscribers, followers and customers are informed, so here’s the update for you:

Stampin’ Up! has recently announced to all Demonstrators that our Stampin’ Trimmer, Big Shot and the accessories for these two product tools will not carry over into the new Annual Catalogue.

These items will be discontinued and eventually replaced with a NEW, BETTER and EXCITING paper cutter and die cutting machine. Unfortunately, there will be a gap until these new replacement tools are available for purchase, as the timing for these new items doesn’t align with the release of our new catalogue. These things happen, right? Personally, I’m really, really excited to see what Stampin’ Up! has in store for us.  So here’s my suggestion to you: purchase your extra blades for the trimmer, plates for the Big Shot, etc before these items are no longer available through Stampin’ Up!

Some current dies and embossing folders, as well as brand NEW ones, WILL be in the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue!

➨ If you don’t yet have the Big Shot and it’s been on our wish list to get one, you may want to consider getting one with the purchase of our Starter Kit. The benefit to our starter kits are that they save you money and you’ll instantly be entitled to perks such as: being able to preorder some of the new catalogue products coming out in May (demos get to order a month before everyone), and you’ll receive a 20% Demonstrator discount!
➨ If you’re not interested in our starter kit option but still want to get the Big Shot, you’ll receive HOST REWARDS if your order is a min. $200. For example, the Big Shot is $150; by adding a Magnetic Platform ($54) your order is now qualified for free host rewards, which you can use towards an extra set of plates, folders, dies, etc. To view/order the Big Shot and Accessories online click HERE.

➨ If you’re a new stamper and/or demonstrator and don’t yet a cutting tool for your cardstock, you’re going to need one. I personally LOVE our Stampin’ Trimmer and I have NEVER had any issues with it. I’d encourage you to purchase our Stampin Trimmer while it’s still available and be sure to order an extra set or two of the blades.

➨ Due to the cost of doing business, the economy, etc, sometimes Stampin’ Up! has to add a slight price increase to some of our products. To give you the opportunity to stock up and save now, I wanted to let you know some of the items that are going to be going up in price slightly, as of June 4th:

⭐Packages of card stock (50 cent increase)
⭐Medium size envelopes (75 cent increase)
 ⭐Emboss powders ($1.50 increase)
⭐Versamark ink pad (75 cent increase)
 ⭐Mist Refill ($1.25 increase)
 ⭐Stampin’ Scrub ($1 increase)
 ⭐Paper Grid ($1 increase)
 ⭐Foil Sheets ($1.25 increase)
 ⭐Dazzling Diamonds Glitter ($1.50 increase)
 ⭐Stampin’ Sponges ($2.25 increase)
 ⭐Note Cards & Envelopes (75 cent increase)
 ⭐Journalling Pens ($1.50 increase)

If you need to stock up and want to save some money, now would be a good time to do so, before these prices go into effect. By the way, some products have actually gone DOWN in price with the new catalogue! The items listed above are the main price difference though, and are also the products that I’m stocking up on too! Be sure to let me know if you have any questions. Just pop me an email at serenestamper@gmail.com

So let’s get onto today’s card, shall we? Or cards, I should say. I made two, using the “Floating Image” technique. I told ya I’d be addicted to this for a while! If you missed yesterday’s post, scroll down to check it out, or click here, and you’ll also see the video there too. For today’s cards I wanted to use the Daisy Punch for the floating images and it worked really well.

The stamp sets I used for the sentiments are from “Thankful Thoughts” and “Very Vintage”.  I also coloured the pearls for the centre of each daisy with my Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Marker.

A  little splash of gold in the centre of the flower and a pearl was all this card needed to add a bit of shazaam. I love the simplicity of this card.

It’s hard to tell from the photos, but I also gave both cards a spritz of Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint (mixed with 70% rubbing alcohol), so they are sparkly and so pretty (in real life).

Measurements:

→Whisper White Card Bases: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
