Festive Farmhouse Christmas Ornament Mini Class – VIDEO

September 22, 2018 8 Comments

Hi Friends! I don’t often post on the weekends, but today I wanted to share one of the mini-classes I held during my Creative Holiday Retreat last Saturday. This project was a big hit and it’s so much fun to make! Everyone received all the supplies in their goodie bags for this class (along with supplies for the other three mini-classes)! Oh my gosh, we had such a good time creating these ornaments!

The Festive Farmhouse Bundle is adorable for this little shadow box ornament and our Mini Pizza Boxes are ideal for this project.

This is my original ornament with some differences from the one I demonstrated in my video. The background behind the picket fence had first been stamped with the ‘snow’ image from “Farmhouse Christmas” and embossed in white. Then I splattered on the Sahara Sand ink and added Dazzling Diamonds. To save time on my already longer than usual video tutorial, I skipped this step, but I must say, I prefer it. The heat embossed ‘snow’ may be hard to see in the video, but it really does make a difference. I also didn’t sponge any of the Coastal Cabana ink onto the background as I did on the video sample:
On this ornament I also added some of the Cherry Cobbler bows to the fence, which I think adds a nice little touch! Stampin’ Up! really knocked it out of the park with the “Festive Farmhouse” suite!

And from the Stampin’ Up! display board during our Alaskan cruise this summer, here is the inspiration for my version of this ornament:

Don’t you just love it when something like this inspires you?
And check out that little snowman!

Here’s the top inside of the tin:

I don’t know who made this altered “Festive Farmhouse” tin, a designer at our home office or a fellow demonstrator, but I was instantly smitten with it. Last year I had seen another shadow box created from one of our mini pizza boxes created by Monica Gale:

Gorgeous, right? I’m glad I decided to give this idea a whirl and with my own twist using the mini pizza boxes and the Festive Farmhouse Christmas bundle. I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday! HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

I love these! Any and all of them1 I do have a question? Someone has to ask you know? Why didn't you place a Window Sheet window in the front of your ornament? I was just wondering was it because of room or another reason? I was looking for something special to make and you gave me some beautiful ideas. I wanted to say Thank YOU, for sharing, I think you are AWEOME!
I saw the same tin that you saw. But, knew I couldn't do it with them! Again,

Thanks Pat & Doris. And Gloria, the window sheets are a fab idea and I've been planning on adding them to the next ornaments I make. I didn't think of them in time for my retreat, when I ordered the supplies, and didn't have enough on hand for all the ladies. But yes, I think adding a window sheet to the ornaments will kick them up a notch for sure!
