Double Embossing & Fun Creative Techniques

March 15, 2024 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends! Yesterday I had a play with some items that have been sitting on my desk and what fun I had! One of the items I wanted to use was the “Layered Florals” embossing folder, which I had inked with my markers well over a week ago, but didn’t get any further than that. So I spritzed the folder with a bit of water, ran my paper through my Die Cut & Emboss Machine, and then added some gilded leafing. This is the result:

Instead of cutting this, I’m going to use it to make a journal! I love making journals and different albums so I’m really looking forward to this next project.

Next, I wanted to create some cards using the “Double Embossing Technique“, which I haven’t done for years! Instead of using a second embossing folder, I used a die and it worked out great!

This is such a cool technique. You’re getting embossing and the look of layers but it’s only one piece of cardstock!

Of course, I had to make a couple more cards using the “Double Embossing Technique”:

This card was another experiment, as I used one of the “Encircled in Nature” dies and then I sponged the ‘raised’ embossing, as well as the embossing from the folder. You could certainly just use a die cut, but I think it’s fun to play around and use our products in as many ways as we can.

This last card has it all: double embossing, reverse embossing with a twist, watercolouring and a touch of gold leafing and embellishments. I don’t think I have to tell you how much I enjoy this little hobby of mine LOL Truly, stamping really DOES makes my heart happy!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
