A day in my life…

September 21, 2011 1 Comment

Hi Everyone!
It has turned into a glorious Fall here on the East Coast.  The trees are starting to change colours, apple stands are brimming with their harvest, the smells of wood stoves on a crisp, cool night, hot apple pie – these are some of life’s simple pleasures that have been filling my days lately. No complaints! I love it! This is my very favourite time of year.  What could make it even better? Drivin’ along the country backroads to teach a Stampin’ Up! workshop to some WONDERFUL ladies! Yessirree, I do love my job!

To get to my workshop, I need to take a quick little ferry ride across the river.
Rosey, my pooch, came along for the ride and this was her view as she poked her head out the window….
Once on the other side, I’m on the scenic Route 705 – gorgeous views the entire way to Annette’s house, my workshop hostess.  I did end up taking an extra ‘scenic’ route – yes, I got a wee bit lost, but I know my way now! Good thing, as I have two more workshops in this neck of the woods over the next few weeks! (And GPS gadgets don’t work in this area either!)

Is this a picture or what?
Breathe in that country air –
it’s good to be alive!
I could easily get into an accident over here – it’s hard to keep my eyes on the road!
These look like happy horses to me!
The gals attending Annette’s workshop are all avid scrapbookers so that’s what I chose to focus on.  I showed how to make a ‘progressive’ scrapbook page – using a 6×6 page, turning it into a 8 1/2 x 11 page and then a 12 x 12 page.  Next, I demonstrated how to take a card and turn it into a 12 x 12 scrapbook page!  Here’s the card I used, which was my card swap from our Team Meeting last week:

Here’s the completed page!
I used My Digital Studio for the title and journalling and the Big Shot for the texture and leaves.  The ladies LOVED the Big Shot and will have fun with theirs when they get it!
Time to make a fun project!
This is a cute little scrapbook – I’ve been using this as a make and take project for my scrapbook themed parties because they’re such a bit hit with the ladies!
Here’s what mine looks like, once photos were added:

I filled it with photos of my family …
…I’m going to send this to my Grandma, who lives back home on Vancouver Island.  I think she’ll LOVE it!
Joanne is pleased with her finished book!

Some of the ladies are going to add recipes to their books, instead of photos!
Look how Annette used her stamps! So clever! “Imagine the possibilities of your dreams”
I had such a great time at Annette’s today, with all the lovely ladies that joined us! The friendships that are formed through my Stampin’ Up! business are such a blessing!  Two of the gals booked workshops today so I’m looking forward to coming back and stamping with them.  Annette even had lunch for us – Joanne brought a delicious tomato-macaroni dish and Annette’s mother made us freshly baked rolls! After such a great time, it was time for me to hit the road and head back for home….

…and get ready to go stampin’ with the ladies in my evening stamp group!  What a GREAT day!
HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

    Tina,

I love the idea of the little scrapbook for a make and take! Genius! Do you have a pattern or dimensions for it you can share?
