Hello, friends!
I am so excited to share one of my (new) favorite DIY projects with you today: busted canvas art! If you’ve never heard of it before, you’re in for a treat. This technique is all about taking a plain canvas and transforming it into a unique piece of art using items you likely already have in your craft stash.
In my latest YouTube video, I demonstrate three different busted canvases, each with its own unique twist.
Here’s What I Made:
Busted Canvas Using Designer Series Paper & Stamps
Using designer series paper (DSP), dried moss, pinecones, and ribbon, I created a canvas that’s perfect for adding a pop of color and a touch of nature to any space. Stamps and dies added the perfect finishing touches for a beautifully layered and textured look!

Busted Canvas with a Greeting Card
Have a special card you’ve been saving? Turn it into a keepsake by featuring it on a busted canvas!

Recycled Calendar Page Magic
Don’t toss those old calendars! I turned a pretty (Susan Branch) calendar page into a beautiful busted canvas for my kitchen!

I repurposed a Christmas gift tag (from a long-retired stamp set) along with ribbon and trims from my stash. I also incorporated dehydrated orange slices I had made, greenery, pinecones, and festive holiday ornaments from the dollar store to create a stunning and budget-friendly holiday canvas!

Tips for Success:
- Mix and match textures for added depth and dimension.
- Don’t be afraid to layer! Extra embellishments can make your canvas pop.
- Use Mod Podge or a similar adhesive to seal your finished canvas for durability.
I hope you have a ton of fun making your ‘Busted Canvas’ projects!
Until next time, HAPPY STAMPING & HAPPY CRAFTING!

P.S. Stay tuned – I’ll soon be sharing another video on how to make busted canvas cards, which I’ve kicked up a notch by turning into a fun shaker card too! You won’t want to miss it! 🎉
