Convention Highlights

July 25, 2014 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends! I got back home from Salt Lake City late Monday and I took a few days off to catch my breath (doing laundry, cutting the grass, etc…LOL) and to absorb everything from Convention.  It was absolutely fabulous.  One of my favourite parts about convention is seeing all my friends in one place:

I first met Pam back in 2002, when I signed up with Stampin’ Up! I just love her! Pam suggested we take this selfie photo just for my hubby…the two of them kind of have a ‘thing’ going on….LOL
Sharon Armstrong and I first met a few years ago but it was after the 2013 Founder’s Circle that we really bonded.  Sharon has become a very dear friend and I just adore her.  We skype and chit chat online all the time and help one another with business ideas and also just sharing our lives with one another.  Sharon was the recipient of this year’s Heart of Stampin’ Up! Award and I couldn’t be more proud or happy for her!

Shelli Gardner, our CEO and Co-Founder, is, in a word, AMAZING.  I think the world of her and appreciate all she does for us and for this awesome company.
Ann Clemmer and I met at last year’s Founder’s Circle.  I was so nervous and Ann was the first one to talk to me and she instantly put me at ease.  I also appreciate the business tips she shares with me too!

These AWESOME ladies are part of my Serene Stampers group and I was thrilled so many made it to convention this year!!!!  Front row:  Kathleen Bennett (BC), Ann Frizzell (NS), Glenda Mollett (BC..honouary Serene Stamper).  Back Row: Suzann Botes (AB), Barb Tripps (BC), Patti Lippe (AB), Shallon Vickers (NS), moi, Melissa Haas (AB), Christina Ray (AB), and Kerri McKay (AB)

I have no idea who this lady is…she just asked to have her photo taken with me.
HA! My friend and “Passport Pal”, France Martin (aka Frenchie).

One of the best things about convention is getting together with your friends and downline for a nice dinner! This is one of my favourite restaurants in Salt Lake City, the “Naked Fish”.  I also made a new friend at convention this year, Mi Ran Bigrigg (third to my right) and she’s just a doll & I love her energy too!  Friendships are always being formed with this fantastic business of ours.
Of course, the Stampin’ Up! convention is always great because we get to see new products for the first time (and play with too), see demonstratrations, stamp fun make and take projects, take awesome classes, prize patrols, awards night and the after party and soooo much more!!! Whew!  Fun fun fun!
I did my first ever presentation during convention – a morning class and an afternoon one.  The morning session went really well.  The second one not so much! LOL Either my presentation note cards or the slides got mixed up and it threw me right off and I couldn’t find my place again.  So I ended up just ‘winging’ the rest of the presentation – I felt like a deer in headlights! LOL  Oh well, it’s all a learning experience right? And I received wonderful feedback from lots of lovely people (THANK YOU!!!) and it was such an honour to have been asked by Stampin’ Up! to be a presenter this year.
My Serene Stampers group was one of a few groups chosen to create a display board for convention! Shallon Vickers and Barb Tripps organized it all then whoever wanted to participate could do so.  We decided our provinces would be the theme of our board and it turned out great!

And I couldn’t forget to throw in a little sneak peek from the new Holiday Catalogue, right? Pretty awesome!  This is hands down the BEST holiday catalogue in Stampin’ Up! history!!! Just sayin. 😉 It will be available the end of August and I’m taking booking for holiday card classes and parties now – contact me if you’d like to join in on the fun!
This was the first year I had members in my downline at convention who were acknowledged for their achievements with Stampin’ Up! It was just THRILLING for me to watch them stand up and be recognized ~ I am so proud of these ladies!

Way to go, Patti and Melissa!!!!

Kerri McKay was also recognized for her achievements too – YAY Kerri! This is a fun photo of an all-attendee give-away, during General Session!

And now it’s my turn to THANK YOU, my friends, customers and Serene Stampers team, for helping me reach my goals this year (and then some!).  This was such a spectacular year for me.  During awards night I found out that:  I was one of three Canadians to earn the Leadership Award for having 6 or more promotions to Consultant and above and I also earned a spot at Founder’s Circle Retreat this fall, which means I’m one of the top 20 demonstrators in Canada again!!!
Oh. My. Gosh!!!! I really didn’t think I’d be able to make it this year and I have no words to tell you how elated I am about it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

And let’s not forget the Grand Vacation to Hawaii!  Oh my.  I am just on a cloud.  Stampin’ Up! has blessed my life unbelievably.  I love this company so much and I have so much FUN with my business.  If you’d like more information about joining Stampin’ Up! and my Serene Stampers group, please don’t hesitate to contact me.  You have the opportunity to just save money on your Stampin’ Up! products (which is what I did for years) or you can make money too and turn your hobby into a part time or full time career.

HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
