Hi Friends! I hope you had a nice weekend! Ours was spent out in the yard, working on the flower beds , cutting & trimming the grass, moving more plants, and taking time to enjoy our gazebo…
It wasn’t super hot this weekend but it was still lovely and warm. Last night temps went down to 3′ and we woke up to another heavy frost! Thank goodness we put the tarps on the veggies in the garden. Once we have the full (strawberry) moon on June 24th, we shouldn’t have any more frost until next Fall/Winter. I am VERY READY for a nice hot summer!
Last week I mailed out cards to members in my “Serene Stampers Community” who are celebrating birthdays and Stampin’ Up! anniversaries this month.
I used the “Beauty of Friendship” stamp set and kept the design simple, just using stamps, ink, and paper. Truth be told, I did add a bit of clear embossing to the trees, just for a bit of texture of shine. The ‘sun’ stamp is from the “Mountain Air” set and the birds are from “Sailing Home”.
The technique I used on the cards is one of my favourites. It’s called “Clear Block Stamping” and it creates a quick and easy background using ink and water. I have a few video demonstrations featuring this technique on my YouTube channel.
