Hello Friends! I’m excited to participate in this month’s “Around the World on Wednesday” (AWOW) blog hop group! This month we were given a sketch challenge, which I always enjoy.
Here is the sketch design:

For my card I wanted to think outside of the box…or in this case, the ‘triangle’. I considered using the “Stage Spotlight Technique”, which I’ve used in the past HERE. However, I was up for trying something new and let my creativity run wild. I decided to take the sketch literally and actually use a triangle in my design:

As I’d been making a lot of cards using the “Notes of Nature” stamp set and “Flight and Airy” Designer Series Paper (see my last post and video here), my desk was covered with all kinds of leftover bits and pieces. I gathered everything together and, as you can probably tell by looking at my card, I went into creative overload! I couldn’t stop stamping and incorporating all the fun and pretty little birds and flowers!

Surprisingly, the end result exceeded my expectations. This card certainly reflects my style and yet it was not a design I would have ever imagined on my own (which is why I love sketch challenges!).

This month’s AWOW Blog Hop has not only pushed my artistic boundaries but it has also served as a reminder that sometimes, the most satisfying creations emerge when we allow ourselves to break free from the constraints of familiarity and embrace the unknown. This is why I love to just PLAY and see what happens – you never know until you TRY out your ideas and just have FUN with them!

I hope you will also find inspiration in the beauty of stepping outside your comfort zone when you make your cards and projects. Be sure to check out all of my AWOW demonstrator friend’s blogs, to see what they created, using today’s sketch – everyone’s interpretation will be so unique and different from everyone else’s!

Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!

Stunning Tina … I love that you have incorporated the little triangle on the square panel … I must admit, I was very liberal with that part of the sketch in my design! 😉 xxx
So pretty & colorful, Tina!
Your spin on this sketch is simply delightful!
Beautiful! Each layer adds another dimension of colour and texture, creating an harmonious, delightful whole! I’m also a big fan of the generous swoosh of twine. 🙂
Thanks so much Jan!
Wow! Love that you were so true to the sketch-that triangle is wonderful!
Such a cheerful card x
Love your interpretation of the sketch, TIna! All the DSP, mix of colors and texture is delightful! Thanks for the inspiration as always. xx
