10 Minute Quick Card

Hi Friends! If you ever need to make a quick card using minimal supplies, then you’re going to love this layout. It’s a basic card, made in under 10 minutes and just uses stamps, ink and paper – nothing fancy pancy. I added a bit of ribbon, a couple rhinestones, some glitter (and I also used an embossing folder for a strip of card stock) – but for a brand new stamper who doesn’t have a whole lot of supplies, those things are all optional.

Sometimes I think it’s important to remember that just simple and basic greeting cards can still be quite lovely and it’s the thought that goes into it! Those who receive cards are just as thrilled with a sweet card, no matter how it’s made. So if you’re one who (like me) uses the Big Shot, card layers and embellishments and techniques on a regular basis, I challenge you to make an easy card like this one (just for fun!). Use the same layout, change the colours (try using one ink pad only) and whatever stamp set you want. Then if you choose to (and once your creative juices are flowing) use the same layout, same supplies but start adding on embellishments to kick it up a notch. You’ll be having fun stamping for hours!

1. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock to measure 11″ x 4 1/4″ and fold in half for the card base. Ink ornaments from “Carols of Christmas” stamp set with Old Olive and stamp off onto scrap paper, then stamp onto front of card (these softens the intensity of the colour). Sponge edge of card with Old Olive ink.
2. Cut a piece of Old Olive card stock to measure 2″ x 4 1/4″ (if desired, run through Big Shot using an embossing folder). Glue onto left side of card. *If you wish to add ribbon, glue onto Old Olive layer prior to adhering to card front.
3. Cut another piece of Old Olive card stock to measure 4 1/4″ x 2 3/4″. Set aside.
4. Cut Whisper White card stock 4″ x 2 1/2″. Stamp “Deck the Halls” sentiment and decorative images using Old Olive ink. Sponge edges. Glue onto Old Olive layer and adhere to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. 
5. Optional: add some Dazzling Diamonds with the Fine Tip Glue pen and a couple of rhinestones to card.
