Party Pandas “Hang in There” Card Tutorial

January 15, 2018 1 Comment

Hi Friends! We’re supposed to get walloped with snow today – potentially up to 25cm!
So I’m going to throw on my boots and bring in a few loads of wood for
the stove. Then I’ll be filming some more videos for you. I love making
videos. The problem I have is a our internet connection – it’s horrid. A 10 minute
video can take up to 6 hours to upload (and that’s after I compress it)!
YIKES! This is the reason I haven’t done any demonstrations on Facebook
Live yet and I’ve been wanting to do that forever! I may attempt a FB Live demo, just to see how it goes – I’ll let you know when. If there is a particular stamp set or technique you’d like me to make a video for, leave a comment and I’ll see what I can do for you! In the meantime, I’ve got a card that is sure to make you smile today:

Isn’t today’s card just adorable? It was created by my friend Lisa Curcio for our Project Sheet group and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to share it with you!

Supplies:
  • Stamp
    Sets

    –

    Party
Pandas (wood 147218, clear 147221); Color Me Happy (wood 144062,
clear 144069), Here For You (wood 141541, clear 142164)
  • Card
    Stock
    –
    Whisper White (100730)
  • Stamp
    Pads

    – Basic Black Archival (140931)
  • Misc.
    – Brights Stampin’ Write Markers (131259), Regals Stampin’
Write Markers (131262); Real Red 1/8” Solid Ribbon (144631),
Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Mini Glue Dots (103683)
Measurements:
  • Whisper
    White (base): 5 ½” x 8 ½”, folded in half, 4” x 5 ¼”,
    scrap
  • Ribbon:
    9”
Instructions:
  1. Stamp
the “line” image from the Color Me Happy stamp set using Basic
Black ink on the left side of the Whisper White 4” x 5 ¼”
layer. Stamp the line image again, this time, connecting the first
    line as shown. Let dry.
  2. Stamp
the round lantern from the Color Me Happy stamp set using Basic
Black ink on the far-left side of the line. Stamp this same image
again in the center where the line intersects. Let dry. Color in
these lanterns using the Real Red marker.
  3. Stamp
the rectangle lantern from the Color Me Happy stamp set using Basic
Black ink on the right side of the round lanterns as shown. Let dry.
Color in these lanterns using the Crushed Curry marker.
  4. Stamp
the panda/party hat image using Basic Black ink on white scrap
cardstock. Let dry. Cut out the image, eliminating the hat, using
your scissors. Adhere the panda to the line as shown using
    Dimensionals.
  5. Make
a bow using the Real Red Ribbon. Adhere to the top of the panda’s
head using a Mini Glue Dot.
  6. Stamp
the greeting “Hang in there” from the Here For You stamp set
towards the upper right corner of the white 4” x 5 ¼” cardstock
using the Basic Black ink as shown. Let dry.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Thanks for sharing your friend's card. It is adorable, and I'm definitely going to get the panda set. My son is so in love with Pandas, he will stand outside in the snow watching the Pandas at the Toronto Zoo. He wrote the Zoo to thank them from getting them on loan from China and he received a nice reply back. Next thing he knows he received an e-mail from Prime Minister Harper thanking him for his interest and went on to explain the significance of having them on loan. Isn't that a cool story?

Wow you are really getting walliped with snow. Stay warm and good luck making videos. I like them. Hugs.
