Christmastime is Here Star Card Tutorial

November 2, 2019 1 Comment

Hi Friends! I’ll be away for our Demonstrator Council seminars until Nov 10th, so I’ve gone ahead and schedule blog posts each day for you. With yesterday’s release of our gorgeous new “Christmastime is Here” Suite, I thought it would be fun to share a card tutorial every day until I get back, featuring the products in this suite!

These tutorials are created by Stampin’ Up! demonstrators in our ‘Leader’s Project Sheet Group’ and I’ll start things off today with my card! I’m really pleased with how it turned out, especially as I decided NOT to focus on the gorgeous rose patterns in the “Christmastime is Here” Designer Series Paper – I wanted to try something a bit different. So I pulled out my star dies and hoped for the best! I even amaze myself sometimes *wink*. As always, I had tons of fun creating and making this card:

Measurements:
  • Crumb
    Cake: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
  • DSP:
    4” x 5 ¼” and three pieces 3 ½” x 3 ½” (circle and star
    die cuts)

Instructions:
  1. Score
Crumb Cake card stock in half to create card base.
  2. Sponge
White Craft ink along edges of card base, and 4” x 5 ¼”
designer series paper (DSP). Glue the DSP to front of card.
  3. Use
large circle die to cut one circle from DSP. Rub embossing buddy
over top then place circle die cut onto stamparatus. Stamp sentiment
with Early Espresso Ink. Immediately sprinkle clear embossing powder
over sentiment, shaking off excess, and set with heat tool. Sponge
edge of circle with Craft White ink, then glue to front of card.
  4. Cut
two pieces of Designer Series Paper with star die. Sponge edges with
white ink and glue to card, overlapping, as shown. Add a small foil
element start to centre of each die cut, placing a rhinestone in
    centre of each one.
  5. Add
leaves from Foil Elements onto card, adhering with glue, to bottom
    of circle die cut.

  6. Create
a bow from Linen Thread and place on top of leaves with a glue dot.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
