Hi Friends! I had a lovely comment from Laura on my last YouTube video, “Watercolor Easter Cards” about using the leftover cross mask for a card:
So that’s exactly what I did to make this card:
Here’s how I made this card:
- Run 4″ x 5 1/4″ Moody Mauve card stock through Zinnia embossing folder.
- Lightly swipe Versamark across the top of the embossed card stock.
- Sprinkle with Heat & Stick Powder, set with Heat Tool and rub Gilded Leafing on top. Brush off excess.
- Ink embossing folder with Early Espresso ink, place Moody Mauve card stock layer back inside embossing folder and run through Die Cut & Emboss Machine.
- Glue 3 3 /4″ x 5 1/8″ Designer Series Paper to Early Espresso card base ( 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, when folded).
- Cut embossed card stock with dies to create a frame and place on card front with adhesive strips.
- Cover cross mask ( 1/2″ x 3 & 1/2″ x 4 strips) with Versamark ink. Emboss with clear powder. Use mini stampin’ dimensional to adhere to card front.
- Cut Whisper White and Old Olive card stock with flower and leaf dies from “Thoughtful Moments Dies” and glue to card.
- Stamp sentiment with Early Espress ink, cover with Versamark and clear embossing powder. Set with heat tool and cut with Happy Little Labels dies. Place on card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp dove with Early Espresso ink onto scrap piece of Basic White card stock. Add Old Olive ink to leaves. Cover with Versamark ink. Emboss with clear powder. Cut and place on card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Add gold embellishments to centre of flowers.
- Cut DSP 4″ x 5 1/4″ and glue inside card.
- Stamp inside sentiments with versamark and emboss with gold embossing powder.
- Stamp “Happy Easter” image (I used one from older Paper Pumpkin set) with Early Espress ink onto scrap piece of the DSP. Cover with clear embossing powder and set with heat tool. Cut with “Happy Little Things” die, moving the DSP to make the strip shorter. Place on card with Stampin’ Dimesionals.
Thanks, Laura, for the great idea of using my mask on a card. I really enjoyed making this, and it just goes to show how we can be creative using all the bits and pieces leftover from projects in a new way!
Have a wonderful Easter, Friends!
