Good morning Friends, and HAPPY FRIDAY! We woke up to a snowy, white Winterland outside. Just as all the snow goes and we can see our lawn again, Mother Nature shows us who’s boss.
While it’s pretty and, admittedly, lovely and cozy to watch the snow fall whilst working on this blog post, I’m ready for SUMMER. At least I know each day brings us closer to warm sunshine and blue skies, and soon enough I’ll be able to work in my garden and flower beds again!
Yesterday I made some cards and filmed the process to share with you. The cards feature a technique that’s an oldie but a goodie and has always been another one of my favourites. The technique uses our chalks (Stampin’ Pastels) and our Stamparatus to create stunning backgrounds and colourful images.
I didn’t realize at the time of filming these two sets of cards that my video was about 40 minutes long. Therefore, I split the video into two parts.
The first video, part one, shows how I made the butterfly cards and the second video, part 2, shows how I made the flower cards.
I hope you’ll find lots of ideas, inspiration and fun tips in my videos and that you’ll give this technique a try!

And here’s a blast from the past, where my romance with chalks & stamps began; my blog post from 2010, with the “Lovely as a Tree” stamp set:
I’ve got a full day of work ahead of me and then I plan on making pizzas tonight for my hubby and me. I’ve always been interested in “Billy the Kid” and there’s a new series about him, so I think we’ll pop that on to watch while we enjoy our pizza. Tomorrow we have some running around to do and a few errands and Sunday is a bit up in the air right now, as we’ve got quite a nasty nor’easter forecast. My fingers are crossed this is the last weekend of winter weather.
…I’m dreaming about what I’m going to plant in our garden and what I’ll can and preserve; I’m dreaming about all my hollyhocks, glads, and other favourite flowers in bloom; I’m dreaming about my plans on expanding my existing flower beds and new ones I’ll start; I’m dreaming of walks to the river behind our house with Rosey and Cooper; and I’m dreaming of relaxing times spent with friends and family around our bonfire, and BBQ’s on our deck. I could go on. Life is so good. Dreams are so good. Take time to DREAM, my friends.
Enjoy the day & HAPPY STAMPING!
