Today’s card showcases our new Sale-a-bration Host stamp set, which you can earn for FREE with a qualifying order. “Scenic Garden” is a beautiful stamp set and full of detail. This set also has a hollyhock image – one of my very favourite flowers – so it was a MUST-HAVE in my stamp collection!
There are so many options for colouring these images: watercolour pencils, inks and water painters, Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers would all look GREAT! For my card today though, I kept it super simple by embossing the images with silver and colouring with just my Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker!
Scenic Garden Card Tutorial
Measurements:
- Pacific Point – 11” x 4 ¼”, 3 ¾” x 5”, scrap piece
- Silver: 4” x 5 ¼” (Tip: I use Rectangle Die to cut out the centre and use on other cards).
Instructions:
- Fold the 11” x 4 ¼” cardstock in half to form card base.
- Glue silver foil cardstock to front of card.
- Stamp bench image from “Scenic Garden” stamp set with Versamark ink pad onto 3 ¾” x 5” Pacific Point cardstock. Sprinkle silver embossing powder over top, shake off excess and set with heat tool. Repeat with the stones image, emboss with silver. Stamp the flowers, emboss with silver. Stamp and emboss birds from “Beside Me” set.
- Colour the bench with Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker.
- Stamp flower pot with Versamark ink pad onto scrap piece of Pacific Point card stock. Emboss with silver. Colour the pots with Pacific Point marker. Cut image and place onto card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp & emboss sentiment on scrap piece of Pacific Point card stock. Cut with paper snips and use Pacific Point marker on the edges. Place onto card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
FYI – the sentiment that I used on my card is also from a new Sale-a-bration stamp set, called “Sending Support”!
This is such a thoughtful & heartfelt, caring stamp set with expressions that I don’t have in other sets. Kudos to Stampin’ Up! for creating this. We ALL go through tough times and life isn’t always easy, as we know. To receive a card with a sentiment that acknowledges what someone is feeling and going through truly makes a difference, don’t you think? I always say that a card is a paper hug in the mail and I know I’ll be using the “Sending Support” stamp set long after this year’s Saleabration promotion.
I can’t wait to make more cards like this one. For variety, I want to use other colours of card stock and embossing powders. I am also going to colour some with my white craft pad, in place of the Stampin’ Write markers. A set of these cards would also make a lovely gift!
Product ListIt is still morning as I type up today’s blog post. I’m sitting in our cozy sunroom, with the fireplace on, enjoying my coffee and slowly getting ready to start my day. It’s absolutely miserable outside. It was +12 (53F) yesterday, which is quite warm for this time of year, but this morning the temperature has dropped to -1 with freezing rain. Ugh. I’m going to go to whip up some pancakes for breakfast and then I’ve got potatoes and homemade beef stock I need to pressure can. Brian and I are also going to make perogies today. Once those things are done I plan on getting back into my pj’s and spending the rest of the day stampin’ and creatin’!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend & HAPPY STAMPING!
