Little Miss Rosey and my first tutorial! - Tina Zinck, Paper Crafter

Our new little girl…. ROSEY!

As some of you may know, Rosey is the latest addition to our family. We have been missing Jake so much that we decided we needed another furry kid to help heal our hearts. And she’s a a doll! (The above photo is Rosey getting towel dried after her first bath – she discovered a very fun mud puddle!). We adopted Rosey from the LittersnCritters Animal Shelter in Nova Scotia. Rosey’s mom is a terrier and the dad was a mysterious one-night love affair – we suspect he is a Border Collie. Rosey is always wagging her tail and has a very happy disposition and I’m happy to be this little girl’s new mom.

Rosey already LOVES road trips with Russell and I. Russell has quite the set up in both our truck and van for Rosey to be all comfy – not to mention stashes of treats in both vehicles.

This little pup has quite a life ahead of her – full of adventure and lots of love!

Now, on to stamping! Here is a card I made using ‘Spring Song’ – a stamp set I earned for FREE during the Sale-a-bration promotion. I stamped the image using black stazon ink and coloured it with my Bold Bright Water Colour Crayons and aqua painter. To make it all sparkly and pretty I covered the entire piece with my versamark ink pad and then sprinkled on Iridescent Ice embossing powder and zapped it with my embossing gun. This is great technique that is quick and easy

This card was made during one of my stamp clubs, where I taught the “Polished Stone” technique. This is such an easy technique and a total WOW! The stamps I used where from the Friends 24/7 set.

During the month of April I demonstrated the “Shaving Cream” technique to my clubs – we had a ball! This technique is super easy and another dynamic WOW factor! The below card samples were all made by some of my club members (Deb, Heather, Michele, and Tammy) and their cards turned out GORGEOUS!

Here’s what you’ll need for this technique:

washable tray (you can use anything from a baking tray to a plate)
paper towels (very neccessary! While fun, this technique can get messy. You may chose to wear rubber gloves)
re-inkers
knife or spatula
shaving cream (I purchase mine at the Dollar Store)

1. Spray shaving cream onto your washable tray.

2. Using your knife of spatula, spread smooth.

3. Randomly dot the surface of the shaving cream with re-inkers of your choice. In the sample I used Green Galore, Baja Breeze and a bit of Encore Silver.

4. Run your knife (yes, I use my bone folder) through the shaving cream, dragging and pulling your colors into swirly patterns.

5. Place your card stock on top of the shaving cream. Lightly tap down the paper to ensure the ink spreads all over your paper.

6. Lift a corner of the paper up and begin to scrape off the shaving cream with your knife as you pull off the paper (you can also simply pull off the paper and wipe off the shaving cream with paper towel – this will give a slightly different look).

7. Using the paper towel, remove the excess shaving cream and marvel at your lovely ‘marbled’ paper!

8. Set aside to dry. This will take 10-15 minutes, unless you’ve used a metallic ink – which takes longer to dry. You can also speed up the process by whizzin’ your card stock with your heat gun.

9. Stamp your image or use your marbled paper for layering your cards or scrapbook pages.
For this card I used the “Fresh Cuts” stamp set.

10. Voila! My finished card!

Aren’t they darling? Love them! I made about 9 of them – I couldn’t stop! LOL

Simply stamp your image on DSP and cut out! Embellish with some bling and ta da! You’ve just created a super adorable card for someone FABULOUS!

Great way to use up scraps and bits and pieces!

These “Bloom” 3×3 card was my April thank you cards (I place cards in EVERY order I receive to show my appreciation for your business AND hopefully inspire you with your stamping). I’m having way too much fun with the color spritzer! Ever since I bought it I’ve been using it non-stop! I know a lot of you have recently purchased the color spritzer too – I’d love to see some of your card creations! Feel free to email me some pics, which I’ll post on my blog to share with everyone!

STAMP CLUBS!

A couple of my stamp clubs are going to continue throughout the summer, while some are finished for the year. For those club members in the later group that wish to continue, we will be forming another club.

Each club needs at least six members. These clubs are a great way to build up your stamp collection on a budget, while earning FREE product, learning fun and new techniques (supplies provided) AND having a great time with other stampers!
