Big Shot Class a hit!

June 10, 2011 1 Comment

Hi Everyone! Wow – this week has been busy but it feels great to be so productive & have FUN at the same time!
(click on the photos to view larger)

During the week I prepared cards to tuck in with the Mini Flyers, my calendar of events & business card that I give to my new customers.  I made the cards with the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch – this punch is SUPER COOLIEO! I also prepared for all my upcoming workshops for this month, using the Fun & Fast Notes stamp set which is retiring at the end of the month.  As you may have noticed on my desk, there’s a glass of chilled white wine – a perk of working at home and being my own boss! And anyone that has Stampin’ Up! orders delivered to their doors KNOWS how exciting it is to see this guy! LOL
We made tea bag holders at one of my stamp clubs this past Friday, template courtesy Andrea Walford.  This is a bit labour intensive but because we had a small group this month we had time to make them – totally FUN! The roses were made using the scallop circle punch.
I’ve also been busy making graduation and Father’s Day cards that I sell at our local produce stand.

I don’t have any Grad stamps so I simply downloaded the Happy Grad stamp set into My Digital Studio, printed it off and added it to the front of my cards.  I absolutely LOVE My Digital Studio!!!!

Each month I have a Big Shot class and this has easily become one of my most popular classes – everyone LOVES the Big Shot!  This class fills up quickly so contact me to RSVP your spot in my next class! Last night’s class featured a lot of accessories and stamps that are retiring this month and then they’ll be gone FOREVER! Click here to view the Last Chance List and be sure to get your favorites while you can – as with every year, retiring items sell out fast!
I love the ‘Birds & Blooms’ sizzlets that are retiring.  The ‘From the Heart’ is a sentiment from the ‘All Holidays’ stamp set that is retiring – one of my all time favorites! We stamped the flowers with the gorgeous Bella Toile – yup, it’s going too!
Here’s another version I made, this time I used the stamp from ‘Dreams du Jour’ which is also on the Last Chance List and only available until June 30th.
I showed the ladies at last night’s class this adorable basket made with the retiring ‘Baskets & Blooms’ Big Shot die.  (This die is listed in the DISCOUNTED items! Woo hoo! Get yours while you can!)
Imagine how cute these would be done up in Christmas paper! But I wanted to show the versatility of this die so here’s what we made:

Beach baskets! How caaaa-ute are these???? Love them! So did the gals! To make the inside basket cut a piece of card stock at 8″ x 3 1/2″.  Score on the long side at 1″ and 2 1/2″.  Turn 90′ and score at 2 1/2″ and 5 1/2″.  I am going to make an attempt at a diagram and scan it for you – I hope it helps! LOL These are really easy to make! We also used the fabulous Tart and Tangy stamp set – a set that is also saying good bye a the end of the month. I have had so much fun with this set over the years – especially for my scratch and sniff cards!  (yes, you CAN make your own scratch and sniff!)

We also made cute boxes using the Scallop envelope die, the purse card with the Top Note die and the sweet post-it-note holders with the Top Note die and the Beyond the Garden DSP & Playful Polka Dots Simply Scrappin’ Kits.  I thought these note holders might be too ‘cinchy’ but the ladies LOVED them! I cut the post it notes down to 2″ x 2 3/4″ but I’m sure the 3″ x 2″ post-it-notes you can buy in the stores would fit.

This weekend I need to work around our house and yard – I’ve got so much to do! I want to finish planting some flowers that I recently bought.  One of my dear customers, Wilma, graciously gave me TONS of hostas and flowers from her yard too (thank you, Wilma!) so I’ve been in the midst of making new flower beds around our front veranda.  We’ve had quite a bit of rain lately, but when the sun comes out it’s just gorgeous and it sure kicks up my energy level!  Here are some photos I took last weekend for a book I’m working on in My Digital Studio (I want to take photos throughout the year and make a 2011-2012 Four Seasons scrapbook! It will be neat to see the yard and flowers through the year and compare them as they grow!)

This stove was discarded and then given to us – I love it!
We converted this old woodstove into a charcoal BBQ! Right now it’s my planting table though…LOL
In the box is cauliflower – a holding spot for it until we find the time to till our veg garden.  Sweet peas will be planted to grow up the ‘trellis’ (can you tell my husband and I love to recycle and repurpose?? )
I don’t know what these are, but they’re my new favorite – I just LOVE them! So cheerful and bright!

That’s it for me – have a great weekend and HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
