Hostess Appreciation Dinner was a SUCCESS!

June 30, 2011 1 Comment

Oh. My. Gosh.  Was last night ever FUN or what?! I had a blast and I think the 25 ladies that came out to my 9th Annual Hostess Appreciation Dinner did too!   Everyone enjoyed their food, the games, the make and takes, the PRIZES (stamp sets, DSP, Ribbon, Markers, etc) and LOVED the new catalogue! Super fun night!

Throughout the evening I was asked for my recipes – I’ll post them for you on the recipe page within the next couple of days.

“Lucky Limeade” – this drink was a hit.  The secret ingredient? Vanilla! I learned that years ago from my friend, Pollyanna, who is from Barbados.  Adding Angostura Bitters and Vanilla to their lemonade is really popular in Barbados and it’s soooo good!

Favors that I made for everyone.  Tucked inside was a chocolate truffle, post-it-note pad and a STAMP!
One of the favors had a $25 Stampin’ Up! gift certificate which Rosie won.
Six favors had a lucky pennant which determined the contestants for the ‘Minute to Win it’ games!
Post it Note holders that I made for everyone, using new DSP

The Left Right game was a hoot!

First ‘Minute to Win it’ game – “Ribbon Roll”! The ladies had to roll 10 yards of ribbon off the spool on to their pencil.  First one to do so wins!

Rhonda won! Her prize was a package of the NEW Flirtatious Specialty DSP! This is amazing paper – it comes with two sheets of laser-cut doilies.

I made six of these cards for the ‘Blow the Card’ off the table game.  The catch to this game is that you can’t blow the card completely off the table…it’s got to ‘hang’ off the edge by the front! Tricky, yes? Hee hee!

I used the NEW Delicate Doilies Stamp set and the new Perfectly Pennant Big Shot die.  I was inspired by this card.

Heather is doing a really good job, so is Leigh, but Sam WINS!

I am going to making a My Digital Studio photo album of last night’s dinner.  I’ve already made one page (click on it to enlarge).
My cupcakes that has become a tradition each year – I made the cupcake liners and toppers with the NEW “Just Add Cake” DSP.

All the new DSP, Stamp Sets, Big Shot dies, etc that I used for my Hostess Appreciation Dinner will become available July 1st, with the launching of the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalogue.  It. Is. AMAZING!  You’re going to LOVE IT!  Book a workshop or a private class with you and your friends to receive your own copy of the catalogue for FREE!

Make and take projects.

Our NEW IN-COLOURS! Aren’t they gorgeous??  Love them!
Time for the ‘Minute to Win it’ “Looty on your Booty” game!  This game was played at Convention last year and it was hysterical! It was just as funny last night too!  Here I am, showing how it’s done…tie the box around your waist, pop a rubber stamp inside and then you have a minute to shake it out! I have a terrific video clip but I don’t know that the girls would appreciate me posting it on the blog.. but trust me, it was FUUUNNNNY!

Sam and Rhonda wait for the minute to start…
Me (setting the timer), Rhonda, Heather, Kerri and Leigh

 “Ready? Set! GO!”
“Shake it to the left, shake it to the right…”
These girls had ‘the moves goin’ on’ Baby! Oh Yeah!
 “Shake your booty!”
Sam won!  She rec’d the ‘Four Frames’ Stamp set
THE NEW CATALOGUE!!!!  The ladies LOVED IT!  I gave one to everyone. I know their wish lists just got a whole lot longer…
Sorry for the blurred photo.  But this is Kathy and Shelly.  It was so nice to spend an evening of fun with such great gals!
Time for the make and take projects!
My Buy One, Get One Free table.  I sold my retiring Stamp Sets and even Big Shot dies for the price that I paid for them (minus tax and shipping) and for each item bought the ladies could get the equivalent for FREE out of the NEW CATALOGUE!
Denise won the door prize! The new In Colour markers and card stock!
My Sweet husband came to help me clean up because he knew I was tuckered out.  I’d marry this man each and every day if I could.
I also made a very special – and emotional – announcement at last night’s dinner…

I EARNED THE INCENTIVE TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD! WOO HOO! Stampin’ Up! is sending Russell and I to Disney World in Florida this April – all expenses paid! I am so excited! I worked so hard for this all year, so I am going to take a little breather now…whew. LOL I could NOT have achieved this goal without my fabulous customers and my team of AWESOME demonstrators! I especially want to thank Shallon Bennett, Hedi MacDonald, Colleen Olsen, Stephanie Cochrane, Jennifer Scarlett, Bernice Martin, Lisa Smith, Kathy McLaughlin,  and Rhonda Makepiece!!! Each of these AMAZING women promoted this past year which was one of the requirements I needed in order to earn this trip.  Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart.

M–I–C–K-E–Y M–O–U–S–E! YIPPEE!!! (Stampin’ Up! has even rented the Animal Kingdom for one night, for all of us that earned the trip! How cool is that? We are going to be sooo spoiled, I just know it). Russell has never experienced the magic of Disney so that was part of my motivation to work so hard this past year – I know he’s going to LOVE it! I’ve been to Disneyland numerous times (truly the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’) but I’ve never been to Disney World! We can’t wait!!!!

 HAPPY STAMPING!

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More
