Hi Friends! I know you’ve been waiting to hear about my 1st ever fund-raiser this past weekend and it was a fantastic success
– over $500 was raised for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada!
WOW!!! I am thrilled to bits! To the ladies who participated and donated – thank you from the
bottom of my heart. It brings tears to my eyes knowing how lucky I am to
have such wonderful customers and friends in my life. You all ROCK and I
really appreciate each and every one of you. The funds that we raised
will help those fighting blood cancers, like my Aunt Gerri, and I’ll be
looking forward to my 2nd Annual ‘Light the Night‘ Fundraiser next
year!

Kathy Baird won the Gift Basket that was full of Stampin’ Up! product, a
gift certificate for a set of Acrylic Nails with Gel Overcoat (from
yours truly) and a Auto Detail Package from Atlantic Auto Spa, a brand new Paper Cutter and an 8×8 Linen Album – total value
of this basket was over $300! Kathy had never even heard of Stampin’ Up!
before, and this was her first event so way to go Kathy!
Kathy commented that she “never wins anything”, so I’m glad her luck changed! Just like my Aunt Gerri, Kathy has also been battling blood cancer (for 6 years!) and I appreciate her taking the time out her schedule to participate in this very special fundraiser. (And a BIG thank you to Cheryl at LLSC for writing up a fabulous press release for my event, which is how Kathy found out about it!) |
I
also had another raffle that was VERY popular (I received online
donations as well!) and the winner of the amazing BIG SHOT DIE CUTTING MACHINE was Heather Dunham! YAY Heather! You sooo deserve this and I’m
tickled that your name was drawn!
Heather was so happy she was doing the ‘Big Shot’ dance – I had to get her to ‘freeze!’ so that I could take a photo! LOL I am soooo happy for Heather – and she donated $60 to the cause! THANK YOU Heather! |
Here are some more photos from Saturday’s fun event:
Everyone wanted to win this awesome Gift Basket! |
Refreshments included everything from brownies, Lemon Macaroon Squares, cookies, to Hot Apple Cider and the World’s BEST Hot Cocoa! (Check out my recipe page later this week!) |
Everything is ready and waiting for a FUN night! (And judging from all the laughter, it really was!) |
Each guest’s folder contained all their 8×8 cardstock as well as the page protectors and three pages of sticker embellishments from the “Merry Moments Simply Scrappin’ Kit“. |
Tables were set up to do the front and back of each page – once they were finished guests switched over to another table to do the next two pages! Everything was provided for them – rhinestones, ribbon, pearls, ink, stamps, you name it! |
Margie and her daughter, Bethany. So glad I’ve met these two lovely ladies – I can’t wait to stamp with them again! (And Margie’s husband, Andrew, even helped clean up when he stopped to pick them up! How sweet was that?!! Thank you Andrew!) |
Nicole (my neighbour), Kathy Baird and her cousin Barb (standing) and Flo. Flo is an amazing woman. I just think the world of her. She also stayed until the very end, helping me clean up (and of course, we had to gab while we were at it – it was midnight by the time we left! LOL) Thank you Flo – you’re the BEST! |
Two wonderful ladies – Peggy and Donna (also fabulous Stampin’ Up! demonstrators!). Here they are helping themselves to hot apple cider and cocoa. Other great gals (and demonstrators) that came out were Kim and Cathy, but they hid from the camera! Thanks for coming gals!!! I appreciate it! xo |
Here I am, with two lovely sisters (and stamp club members), Jillian (across from me) and Jacqueline (sitting beside me). These two were on fire – they had ALL their pages done in about an hour! Holey cow! (I think ‘hot dates’ may have had something to do with it! LOL) |
Speaking of ‘hot dates’, my husband was roped into drawing the names for the prizes! Thanks Honey! |
Once again, to all of you who donated and/or participated in this fundraiser – thank you! I couldn’t have done it without you! xxoo
HAPPY STAMPING!

Yay, Tina!
I'm so happy that you earned so much money for the cause! Thanks for sharing your photos and the great pages!
