Watercolor Winter
Hi Friends! I hope you had a nice long weekend and were able to attend a Remembrance Day event near you. Each year we go to our local Legion’s service and it’s always a sombre experience to hear all the names of loved ones who served and died for our freedom. And so many were sooooo young! My grandfather even lied about his age just so he could join the Merchant Marines. My husband’s grandfather (from New Brunswick) was killed in England just three weeks before the war ended, leaving behind his wife who was pregnant (with my hubby’s mother). So heartbroken, she never remarried. Lots of sad stories. And so much we take for granted. The Padre at Sunday’s service was so right when he said we need to REMEMBER every day – not just November 11th – and be grateful.
