Hi Friends. Well, I must say, I had no idea my last post, with my
“High Tide” video tutorial, would be so popular!I am thrilled to
bits that so many of you liked the cards I made. From the moment I made my
first one, I knew I had to create a video to share with everyone because I just
loved how it turned out. If you don’t already have the “High Tide”stamp set then I encourage you to get it – it’s truly a gorgeous stamp set and
so versatile. So THANK YOU for all your kind comments, everyone – I sincerely
appreciate each and every one!
card I made was inspired by a design I orignally found on Pinterest by
Mary Brown. This was the layout for my Mystery Stamping Hour this past weekend. You may wonder what that is, so here’s how it works:
On the first Saturday of every month, members of my “Serene Stampers” group meet up online, via Facebook, to play a round of “Mystery Stamping Hour” – it is soooo much FUN! I find a card design (today’s card was the sketch layout I used for this month) and I’ll give everyone step by step instructions for making their card. For example, step one will be to create a Whisper White card base. Once done everyone leaves a comment. Then I’ll move on to step two, which might be: apply two 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ strips of card stock or designer series paper to the left side of your card base. And so on and so on. Sometimes I’ll just suggest they stamp a bird, from any stamp set, along with a “Happy Birthday” sentiment. This month I focused on the Avant Garden sale-a-bration stamp set (or a floral set if they didn’t have Avant Garden). Once done everyone takes a photo of their card and uploads it for all of us to see. It’s amazing how different the cards are, even though everyone got the same directions. And ALL the cards are gorgeous! Members of my Serene Stampers group are located all across the country and this is such a fun way for us to interact and inspire one another. One of my group members used the “Fresh Fruit” stamp set for her card and I loved it so much that I pretty much cased it for today’s card – I just changed up the stamp sets and colours. It’s so neat how our card designs come to be!
HAPPY STAMPING!
