I am very excited to announce that I will be holding a very special fundraiser for my friends Chandra and Sarah Gavin. Both these lovely ladies (mother/daughter) have been accepted on with the Volunteer Eco Students Abroad Program and will be travelling to Africa this June to take part in an important sustainable community development project.
VESA, along with Chandra and Sarah, will work in conjunction with the villagers and the village chief in addressing the major issues faced by the village and the local schools such as a lack of fresh running water, dilapidated schools and generally poor infrastructure. It is my hope that my Stampin’ Up! fundraiser will help to facilitate the means for implementing a major community development project, which will encompass construction in addition to educating the community on matters of conservation, sustainability, health/hygiene and English proficiency.
By taking part in my fundraiser for Chandra and Sarah, you will be directly assisting with the costs involved in participating in the program. These costs are significant and include hiring local skilled trades people to supervise and assist in the building projects, building materials and donations to local organizations. Every volunteer will complete a minimum of 40 hours of hands on community based volunteer work.
This is going to be a wonderful fundraiser and instead of just giving money or buying something you don’t really want, this is a service to you! If you live locally, please join us for an afternoon of stamping fun in Antigonish. Supplies to create 5 beautiful all-occasion cards will be provided – you just stamp and assemble. ANYONE can do this – even if you think you’re not the ‘creative’ type. I’ve done all the prep work for you so that you can come out and enjoy a couple hours of crafting and fun! If you live too far away or can’t attend, there are also options of purchasing one of the new Eastern Palace product bundles OR purchase pre-made greeting cards, ready to send to your friends and family.
Chandra and Sarah would appreciate any support from friends, family, fellow stampers and community, which will enable them to participate in this vital program. Whilst VESA is a volunteer organisation, it is not a registered charity so donations will not be tax deductible.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Chandra and Sarah to make a difference donating their time and energy into volunteering overseas this summer. All profit and proceeds from my Stampin’ Up! fundraiser will benefit Chandra and Sarah.
Please take a look below at the three choices available. If you are able to help, even in the smallest way it would be greatly appreciated.

What a great cause. My daughter works for Me to We (formerly Free the Children)in Toronto's head office and has made numerous trips to Africa and other countries they support.
I noticed you are doing classes in Antigonish. I used to live in the Annapolis Valley and PEI for 14 years and visited there every year. This August if plans pan out my fiance and I are eloping at the Keltic Lodge.
