Happy Friday! I have absolutely no plans for this weekend and I’m actually quite excited about that. Actually, that’s not quite true – I have a paint night date with some friends, but aside from that it’s going to be a weekend of R&R. Have you ever gone to a Paint Night before? I’ve been once – lots of fun. I used to tole paint YEARS ago, back when it was so popular. It’s a nice change, to work with paints. I am really looking forward to the painting we’ll be making – if I manage to do a half-decent job of it I’ll share a photo with you on Monday!
Today’s projects are a card and gift tag that I made for a dear friend and team member who recently promoted to the title of Silver. This is a great accomplishment and I’m so excited for her. We met up for lunch earlier this week and she loved her gift (an engraved clear block) and card!
This is such a fun card layout, cased from a card I received from Stampin’ Up a couple of years ago to celebrate my $200,000.00 sales. I’ve since used this layout for many cards, simply changing up the colours and stamps. To create the background I used a little stamp from the “Sheltering Tree” set and the sentiments are from “All Things Thanks” and “Petal Palette”. I cut the little banners with my Paper Snips and stapled on the twine bow. The little butterfly finished off the card perfectly!
This tag was so much to make! I used a Stitched Circle Die cut and added some hearts cut with the new “Be Mine Stitched Framelit Dies”. I also used the “Celebrate You” Thinlits, which I cut from a scrap piece of Garden Impressions DSP and Powder Pink card stock. I simply cut them half to create the two tones, also pulling in all the colours that I used on the card.
Doesn’t the tag look pretty on the canvas bag? This bag, by the way, was from one of the pillow gifts I received on the Alaskan cruise this past summer. I also added some Powder Pink Ribbon and Silver Sequin Trim.
