Hello Friends! Today I felt like doing some heat embossing on a card. I grabbed my stamp sets, Vintage Leaves and Thoughtful Banners, and started to play!
To make my card I first wiped my 4′ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White card stock layer with my Embossing Buddy (to remove static from the paper) and stamped my leaf images using Versamark Ink. Then I sprinkled Silver embossing powder over the entire piece, shook off the excess, and set with my Heat Tool. To colour the leaves I used my aqua painter and ink pads. Once the leaves were done I filled in the blank areas with a light wash of “Soft Sky” – using the aqua painter really makes colouring sooo quick and easy!
For the sentiment, I inked the words from “Thoughtful Banners” with versamark and stamped on top of the solid bar image (inked with Black Memento) and used White embossing powder, then heat set. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to raise the words – I love this look. To finish my card, I inked the edge of the Whisper White card stock with my Gold Wink of Stella Pen. Before adhering this piece to my Basic Black card base, I decided to add some ‘splatters’ so I used a stamp from “Timeless Textures” with Crumb Cake ink. I then added a border around the card with my Basic Black marker.
Some Black Baker’s Twine and Linen Thread and a Rhinestone finished the card! All told, this card took me about 15 minutes to make, from start to finish. I hope you have a great day and I’ll be back this week with a new video for you too!
