Hi Friends! I’m back in Nova Scotia. I flew back to British Columbia so that I could get my car and items I had left there earlier this summer. Now that I’ll be on the East Coast for the time being, I wanted to make the most of my visit back home on Vancouver Island. I spent a week seeing friends and family and I made the most of every moment there. I even took time to stamp at my friend Barb’s, who showed me how to make a really neat card (stand by – future video coming!).
It was so much fun to learn a new card design! THANKS for the inspiration, Barb! |
Once I hit the Trans Canada Highway East, it took me about 5 ½ days to drive across the country. This was the 3rd time I’ve driven across Canada, but my first time solo. It
was a good trip, albeit pretty much non-stop, yet once again, I marveled at what a beautiful country this
is. Since I’ve been back, I’ve been busy settling into my home sweet home, with my fur-kids, and getting into the routine of things again
(which feels soooo good!). Aside from catching up on my business work, I’ve also been canning my crabapples as well as working for a friend who is short staffed at the local cafe she manages. It’s been years since I worked in the restaurant business, and it’s only a few days a week, but it’s a great way to get out there and meet people too (which I love).

Now that I’ve unpacked all my stamping supplies and set up
my studio again, I’m in the process of putting together
some online classes; I’m super excited about it. I’ll post all the details this
weekend. I’m also going to start sending
out my monthly newsletters again, beginning October. If you’re not already a
subscriber, just add your email address in the box on the sidebar.

Today’s card was really fun to make. I used a technique
called “Stained Glass” for the background:

MEASUREMENTS:
Card Base: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Basic Black: 5 1/4″ x 4″

I want to play around with this background a bit more
because I think it would be gorgeous with Christmas stamps, as well as covered
with Dazzling Diamonds as well as heat embossed. I’ll post these creations once
I give them a try. For now though, here’s the basic technique – I hope you’ll
give it a try!
