Hi Friends! I arrived back early Sunday morning from my two-week visit to Vancouver Island. It was wonderful to visit with my family and friends back home! Of course, there’s never enough time to see everyone or do everything that you want but it was a great trip.
Over the last few days I’ve been slowly but surely getting into my rhythm again, with work, my garden (which is sensational this year) and doing what needs to be done around the house (laundry, cutting the lawn, etc).
It truly boggles my mind that we’re almost at the end of August – the days keep zooming by. However, it’s good to slow down and spend some time stamping and creating cards, which is exactly what I did yesterday!
As I began gathering all of my supplies to start making my cards, I knew that I wanted to use the “Alcohol Ink & Vellum Technique” which is one of my all-time favourite techniques. I also wanted to feature the “Rays of Light” stamp to on my cards, as I hadn’t really used it much. Aside from that, I had no idea what layouts or designs I’d be creating on my cards.
I just wanted to play and create – and experiment! Sometimes the results are great, sometimes not so much – but if you don’t play and try new things, you don’t learn what works, what you like and what you don’t.
It’s always a thrill when your idea and creative thought process come together and you end up with something you really love!
I filmed the entire process of making my cards, speeding up the video to avoid keeping it too long. You’ll see me pull in all kinds of different products & techniques and I hope you discover some ideas you’ll want to try too!

The vibrant colours, the translucent effect, and the unique texture are just some of the aspects that make the “Alcohol Ink & Vellum” technique so awesome. To see my other cards & videos that I’ve made using this fun technique, click on the images below:
Enjoy the day & HAPPY STAMPING!
