Quick Card Using Designer Series Paper

January 23, 2024 4 Comments

Hi Friends! Have you seen the new “Perennial Lavender” Designer Series Paper? It is absolutely beautiful. It’s easy to make a quick card when you’ve got patterned paper like this doing all the work for you! All you need with this DSP is a sentiment!

Of course, I did jazz this card up a bit with the Cane Weave embossing folder and a few embellishments. This card design is ideal for mass producing or even just to use up leftover strips of Designer Series Paper!

Perennial Lavender Birthday Card

Measurements:

  • Basic Black: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”
  • Lost Lagoon: 4” x 5 ¼” , 3 ½” x 1”
  • Pool Party: 3 ¾” x 5”
  • Basic White: ¾” x 3 ¼”
  • Designer Series Paper: 1” x ¾”. 3 ¼” x 1 (four pieces)

Instructions:

  1. Fold 8 ½” x 5 ½” Basic Black card stock in half to create card base.
  2. Line Designer Series Paper strips onto Pool Party card stock and glue into place. Adhere this layer to 4” x 5 ¼” Lost Lagoon card stock. Place inside Cane Weave embossing folder and run through Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
  3. Wrap linen thread three times around embossed card stock, securing in back. Glue to card base.
  4. Stamp sentiment with Black Memento Ink onto Basic White card stock. Flag end to make a banner. Glue to strip of Lost Lagoon card stock. Flag end and place onto card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  5. Cut a scrap piece of purple pattern Designer Series paper with Dragonfly punch. Use black marker to colour in the body. Add Clear Wink of Stella to the wings. Repeat for a second dragonfly and glue the two together. Place onto card with glue. Add rhinestones to dragonfly.
  6. Add sequins and a linen bow to finish card.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…

Your measurements on the DSP are not working for me. Are you sure they are correct?

You may need to trim the dsp strips a bit.
