Quick and Easy Thank You Cards Shelli Gardner Style

January 25, 2013 Leave a Comment

Hi Friends! Boy oh boy, it’s cold here today.  -21 and with the wind chill it’s -32.  Holey toledo.  Thank goodness for our wood stove – and flannel sheets!  I happen to LOVE cozy, flannel sheets and I discovered THEE world’s BEST flannel sheets.  Check out “Brunswick Sheets” HERE!  I’ve sent these sheets back home to my brother, who lives on Vancouver Island, and even to my Mother-in-Law, who lives in England.  She’s especially loving her sheets right now because she’s snowed in at the moment – not that common in the UK.  So it’s nice to know she’s snuggly wuggly.  Brownie points for the daughter-in-law! HA!  *kidding*

Today was the first day I’ve stamped since I had my surgery last week and it was sooooo nice to play with some new stamps!  I made my Dad his birthday card (which I’ll post tomorrow) and I also made all of my Christmas thank you cards.  These thank you cards are MEGA fast and easy but I love the layout.  And how could I not, when it was demonstrated by the fabulous Shelli Gardner, at our Leadership Conference earlier this month.  You won’t believe how easy this card is to make – and it just goes to show that sometimes simple is best and can still pack a “WOW!”.

For this card I am using the NEW “Oh, Hello” stamp set on Whisper White and Perfect Plum Card Stock with Perfect Plum Classic Ink and Black Stazon

Using Whisper White card stock that has been cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″, gently place ink pad directly on top of paper.

Gently press each corner down, and then press the middle top of the ink pad and then the middle bottom of the ink pad.  Be careful not to add pressure to centre of ink pad.

Ta-da! Cool background, just from an ink pad!

Stamp flower with Black Stazon in the centre.

Stamp sentiment, also using Black Stazon, on lower corner.
Seriously, is that not pretty? And soooo SIMPLE.

This would be lovely to make as a card set, using different colours.  I can’t wait to try that. 🙂

 Here’s Shelli’s card:

I forgot that Shelli used the colour spritzer on her cards (one of my favourite tools!)

Here’s another card I just finished, pressing a little harder on the ink pad for more intense colour, and I’ve also added some colour spritzing…

You’ll have to give this card design a try.  It’s awesome when you need a make a lot of cards in a hurry too.

Here are today’s card samples from the Leadership Conference:

I wish I knew who created this lovely card, but there’s no name with it.  Check out the stitching! WOW

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
