Hi everyone! I hope you’ve been enjoying the lovely summer weather! It’s been too nice to stay indoors and stamp – the gardens and flowers have been calling. However, today is a bit cooler and overcast so guess where I’m heading to as soon as this post is done? THE HOBBY ROOM! And guess what’s waiting for me in my hobby room? NEW STAMPS AND ACCESSORIES FROM THE SOON TO BE RELEASED 2010-2011 STAMPIN’ UP! IDEA BOOK & CATALOGUE!!!!! (I’ll let you in on a secret – the new catty ROCKS! Best one evahhh!) Oh. My. Gosh. I know I’m going to be sucked into the stampin’ vortex from now until the wee hours. My dear hubby has promised to slide crackers under the door so that I avoid starvation. LOL. I’ll need the fuel for stampin’ energy; I have so much to stamp for! My upcoming, exclusive, Annual Hostess Appreciation Dinner is on July 11th and I have prizes as well as make and takes to prepare. I have a stamp club tomorrow that also requires some prep-work. I sell my cards at the local the farm stand and I need to make some more cards to fill up the racks. And I’ve got approx. 150 swaps to make for the Stampin’ Up! Convention next month! Holey car-umbra! But how fun! Believe me, I will NEVER complain that I just ‘have to’ stamp! LOL Bring it on! I’ve got some great movies to pop in the machine and/or some music to stamp to – a fresh cup of coffee and I’m ready to get inky! LIFE IS GOOD!
On a quick note – don’t forget to stock up on your favorite Stampin’ Up! stamps and accessories that are on the “Last Chance” list – they are going fast! Quite a few products are already SOLD OUT! Click here to see what’s being retired.
Here’s a card and gift I made recently using the “Elements of Style” stamp set from the current Summer Mini.
All I did was stamp the image on the white, then stamped again on another piece of white which I colored and then mounted on top. This is known as the ‘Spotlighting Technique’. This also looks good with a smaller bit of color ‘spotlighted’, rather than a big piece. A real quick card to make.
Never underestimate the gesture of hand-stamped card. It always shows how very much you care.
HAPPY STAMPING!
