Hi Gang. What do you think of my new blog design? I’ve been wanting to spiff up my blog for a while now and today was the day. It was bit time consuming but so worth it. More of a learning curve, than anything, learning how to customize the header with layering, photos, text, etc. I’m really pleased with the end result. I find the look of my blog really reflects my personality and some of my favorite things – country, vintage, fun, glitter and LOTS of creativity!
So on to the update. Some of you may have noticed I’ve not posted anything since the beginning of the month. There’s a reason for that. My (step) Mom passed away August 9th. She had cancer and was diagnosed 11 months ago. Mom was only 60 and had so much to live for. Considering the fact that she was given only a few weeks to live, her positive attitude and fight to survive got her through almost a full year. Though my parents split up when I was 17, my Mom has always been there for me – since I was 7 years old. My 40th birthday was a couple of weeks ago, August 14th, and two days after my Mom passed away a parcel arrived in the mail – from my Mom – for my birthday. She always thought of others and never missed an occasion to send a card or call someone just to let them know she was thinking of them. I owe so much to my Mom. I wouldn’t be who I am today if not for her and the amount of gratitude I have for her could NEVER be put into words. Just like most (if not ALL) parent/child relationships, we had our ups and downs, but I have way more good and happy memories than of anything else. I loved my Mom dearly and to say that I am going to miss her is a huge understatement ~ there is a big piece of my heart that is just shattered. As it is, I can’t really believe that she’s gone. But then again, I know she’s not really. She’s in a place where she’s at peace and in complete serenity – amongst her friends and family that have passed on before her. And that gives me comfort.

**Mom’s now in Heaven with her sweet little Bernie, whom I’m sure was overjoyed to see her; along with our Jake and other furry family members.***
Thanks to those of you that mailed me cards or popped by to see me with your hugs (which were muchly needed and appreciated), kind words and even a basket full of homemade muffins. The care and support that I received touched my heart and I am truly blessed to have such amazing friends in my life.
Namaste,
Tina
