Lots of Lavender Sale-a-bration Card Tutorial

January 16, 2018 1 Comment

Hi Friends! Well, as predicted, we did indeed get a pile of snow last night! This was the first time we actually had to use our plow truck to clear the drive. I think we’ve been quite lucky, actually, as our winter has been very mild so far. Here are some photos I took a couple of days ago (and it was +16 degrees):

…and this morning (minus 5 degrees)…
Big difference! It’s so pretty outside.
It may cold and snowy, but it’s hard not to have Spring on your mind when creating cards with the “Lots of Lavender” Sale-a-bration stamp set! For this card, I also used the “Yay You” Host Reward stamp set, which I love! The fonts on the sentiments are awesome and of course, so are all the stamps in this set.
Measurements:
  • Early
    Espresso: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, 4 ¼” x 2 ¾”
  • Whisper
    White: 4” x 5 ¼”, 4” x 2 ½”
  • Tempting
    Turquoise: 4 ½” x 3”
  • Vellum:
    4 ½” x 1” (two strips)

Instructions:
  1. Fold
Early Espresso card stock in half to create card base.
  2. Glue
4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White card stock layer to front of card.
  3. Stamp
large flower image from “Lots of Lavender” set with Early
    Espresso Ink.
  4. Ink
the solid flower image with Sweet Sugarplum and stamp over the
    lavender.
  5. Ink
leaves and stems with Garden Green and stamp over image.
  6. Ink
ribbon with Tempting Turquoise and stamp over image.
  7. Randomly
colour in flower petals with Berry Burst Stampin’ Write Marker.
  8. Cover
entire image with Clear Wink of Stella.
  9. Stamp
sentiment from “Yay You” set with Early Espresso.
  10. Glue
    stamped layer onto 4 ¼” x 2 ¾” Early Espresso card stock.
Adhere to 4 ½” x 3” Tempting Turquoise card stock. Use SNAIL to
    add to front of card.
  11. Cut
vellum strips with Decorative Ribbon Punch. Use a bit of SNAIL to
adhere along each side of layered stamp image, as shown on sample.
  12. Place
a small rhinestone on centre of stamped bow.
Inside of card.

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
