Live with Zest

Hi Friends! I’m back in Nova Scotia, after a 2 weeks visit to Comox, my hometown, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Wow, talk about a fun and RELAXING trip! It was so nice to spend time with my friends and family. My sweetie and I also enjoyed exploring some of my favourite spots,
which he had never been too, such as Cathedral Grove, which was
beautiful. We also did some fishing and brought back some salmon for the
freezer. My BFF and her husband set up their trailer at the Pacific Playgrounds RV Park for us, so it was especially nice to do some ‘camping’ and
relax by the fire. Truly an awesome trip.

The trails at Elk Falls are beautiful!
 Elk Falls Suspension Bridge
 Gorgeous views
 The Elk Falls are breathtaking!
Some of the Douglas Fir trees, like this one, at Cathedral Grove, are over 800 years old!

Deer are everywhere in the Comox Valley and it’s not uncommon to see a family with fawns in neighbourhoods like this! There are so many deer in the area that you’ll see road signs like this:

In between the sightseeing and visiting, I also enjoyed some quiet time at our campsite, working on my Stampin’ Up! business. I am so blessed to have a job that I LOVE and to be able to work where ever I want! You can too! Pop me an email at serenestamper@gmail.com if you’d like information on how you can get paid to play with stamps and glitter and share your crafting passion with others (it’s pretty awesome!).
I always loved going to Kye Bay Beach when I was growing up and spent many, many hours here. It’s great when the tide is out and you can walk forever along the sand, searching for shells and sand dollars…
I thought it would be cool to get a photo of me holding this big, dead crab I found – until it’s legs moved just seconds after this picture was taken! OMG – it was airborne in 1.5 seconds, lemme tell ya! LOL Don’t worry, said crab was okay and I made sure to NOT pick up any more after that!

I have always LOVED fishing and it was so nice to get back on the water and get the lines in! Nothing beats the views OR the ‘zing’ of the reel with a fish on!
Photos never do justice to the scenery.

It’s always so hard to squeeze everything in, when you go back home to visit. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to see everyone we wanted to see or go to all the places we hoped too (Victoria, Tofino, etc). But there’s always next time. We were spoiled with suppers at my dad’s, with Grandma’s chocolate cake for dessert (yes, I gained weight while away, haha); wonderful visits with friends and campfires under the stars. And now, it’s time to get back to reality! LOL It is good to be back though – I missed my furkids and it’s nice to be back tending my flower beds and vegetable garden. And, I missed STAMPING! So how about a card project? Here’s a cute card that features the new Lemon Zest bundle:

I joined Stampin' Up! the first night they arrived in Canada, April 2002, and what a ride it's been! At the time I just wanted the discount on all of the fabulous stamps and accessories - why pay full price if you don't have to, right? But little did I know where my journey with Stampin' Up! would take me. Read More…
