Light Up My Life – Tutorial

Hi Friends! I’ve got such a cute card to share with you today. The “Jar of Love” is the featured product for this card. I love fireflies, which we see quite often in the summer, here in Nova Scotia. I hope you enjoy today’s project!


Supplies Used:
•       
Stamp Sets
–  Jar of Love (141587); Hardwood
(133032)
•       
Card Stock – Thick Whisper White (140272); Crumb
Cake (120953); Whisper White (100730); Crushed Curry (131199)
•       
Stamp Pads –
Black Archival Stampin
’ Ink (140931); Crumb Cake (126975);
Crushed Curry (131173)
•       
Misc. –Everyday Jars Framelits (141490); Big
Shot (143263); Magnetic Platform (130658); Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper
(144163); Linen Thread ( 104199); Delicate White Doilies (141701); Classic
Label Punch (141491); Dimensionals (104430); Snail adhesive (104332)
         
Measurements:  

  • Thick
    Whisper White Card Stock: 5
    ½” x 8 ½”, folded in half 
  • Crumb
    Cake:  4 x 5 1/4
    ” 
  • Pick a Pattern DSP
    strip:  1 x 4
    ” 
  • Whisper
    White: 4 x 2 1/2
    ” 
  • Crushed
    Curry scraps

Instructions:

  1. Stamp
    crumb cake card stock with crumb cake ink, using the Hardwood stamp.
  2. Cut
    doily in half and adhere to crumb cake card stock.
  3. Adhere
    DSP strip to crumb cake, overlapping the doily. 
    Wrap two times with linen thread and tie in a bow.
  4. Stamp
    the Mason Jar and handle with black archival ink.  Using coordinating framelits, cut out.
  5. Stamp
    “glow” in crushed curry, and stamp fireflies in black archival
    ink. 
  6. Apply the
    handle to Mason Jar image using snail adhesive.
  7. Adhere
    Mason Jar to card front using dimensionals.
  8. Stamp
    sentiment on crushed curry scrap.  Punch
    out using the Classic Label Punch. 
    Adhere to card front using dimensionals.
  9. Glue
    card front to Thick Whisper White card base.
  10. Mail
    to someone special!

I’ve got a full day ahead of me – I’m preparing all my new online classes, my upcoming retreat and another round of stamp clubs. I truly love my job. I’m having so much fun planning all my projects.  I hope to have everything posted for you by the end of this week.
