Hi Friends! As soon as I saw the images in the “Irresistible Blooms” stamp set I KNEW I’d be using them with one of my favourite techniques!
The technique I’m referring to is the “Floating Technique”, though I’m sure it goes by other names too. It is sooo much FUN!
I hope you enjoy today’s demonstration & cards!
Irresistible Blooms Card #4
Measurements:
- Granny Apple Green: 11” x 4 ¼”
- Evening Evergreen: 4” x 5 ¼”
- Watercolor Card Stock: 5” x 3 ½”
Instructions:
- Fold the Granny Apple Green cardstock in half to form card base.
- Rub embossing buddy over watercolor cardstock to remove any static.
- Stamp flowers, leaves and splatter images with Versamark onto watercolour cardstock. Sprinkle with gold or copper embossing powder (or powder of your choice). Shake off excess powder and set with heat tool.
- Working on one flower at a time, flood the inside of embossed image with water using the water painter brush. Drop first colour of ink refill and let it move inside the water. Add secondary ink refill colour. If desired, add a third colour. Let dry naturally (using a heat tool will move and blend the ink colours even more).
- Colour remaining flowers, following step 4.
- Use Granny Apple Green and Evening Evergreen ink refills for the leaves.
- Use watercolor painter and blue reinkers to fill in the areas around the embossed flowers and leaves. Let dry (use heat tool to speed the process).
- Flick the water painter over stamped layer to create splatters and dry.
- Wrap ribbon around the Evening Evergreen OR watercolor card stock.
- Glue Evening Evergreen card stock to card base.
- Place watercoloured layer on front of card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Add gems to center of flowers, using Fine Tip Glue Pen (or Liquid Glue).
- Secure ribbon bow or knot onto card.
- Stamp sentiment on scrap piece of cardstock or Designer Series Paper. Trim and place onto card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
