Hi Friends! First off, I want to send out my love to fellow Nova Scotian’s – both living here and away – after the horrific mass shooting this past Sunday. This is such a tragic, heartbreaking and senseless tragedy. You think that ‘things like this’ don’t happen in quiet little communities, especially here in Nova Scotia – it’s hard to wrap your head around it. For a province as small as this one, it seems that everyone is connected and/or related in some way and I know the ripple effect of the shock and sadness is affecting many. As one of my friends shared this morning: “Now, more than ever, Nova Scotia, keep love in your heart. Just when you think staying home was hard, the worst has happened. Wrap your social distancing arms around this province.“
This past Saturday I made a birthday card for the sweetest little girl. My BF’s oldest daughter has two wonderful babies – Sadie is 2 and Olivia (whom we call Livvy) just turned one. Both are redheads and the apples of our eyes – it’s so tough not being able to visit (and cuddle) with them during this C-19 crisis! And they’re growing so fast too! So we have just been dropping off Easter baskets and goodies on their doorstep, and blowing kisses to our grandbabies, as they watch us from the window. It’s hard because they don’t understand why they can’t come to us, with their arms outstretched, and wanting hugs from their Papa and I. I know that MANY of us are going through this! But you know what? All will be well and this too shall pass. In the meantime, we left Livvy’s birthday card and gift on her mom and dad’s front step and we’ll celebrate Livvy’s 1st birthday with a party later on.
